Experience:
BSc. in Textile Engineering from a reputed university
5–10 years in yarn development or spinning process R&D, with exposure to both conventional and functional yarns.Deep understanding of yarn construction, fiber behavior, blending techniques, and spinning technology.
Experience working with yarn testing standards and equipment (e.g., USTER, ASTM, ISO).
Knowledge of sustainable and biodegradable fibers (e.g., organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell).
Exposure to high-performance or technical yarns (e.g., aramid, carbon, conductive, elastic core yarns).
Familiarity with quality control systems and textile management software.
Understanding of yarn behavior in downstream processes like knitting, weaving, or dyeing.
Ability to troubleshoot spinning or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Akij Textile Mills Ltd. is a sister concern of Akij INSAF one of the largest conglomerate in Bangladesh, founded in 1998 by Sk. Akij Uddin. The industry is fully export oriented and known for its various units, Spinning, Yarn Dying, Weaving & Fabric Dyeing and Finishing, more than 5,000 employees. Spinning unit consists of reputed brands of machineries like Reiter, Zinser, Schlaforst-Autocone, Autocore, Uster-Lab. Weaving unit is fully automated with state of the art machineries, like Picanol- Omni Plus 800, Airjet Looms with quick style change, Karl Mayer- High Performance Sizing and Sectional Warpers, Stauble Automatic Drawing- in System, CCI-Automatic Sampling Loom & Yarn Dying unit consists of high class machineries like SSM (Swiss) Soft Winding and Re-Winding machines, Gofront Stalem and Galvanim.
Now, we are seeking a dynamic & energetic person to join us as “Deputy Manager/Manager, R&D (Yarn Development)”. The candidate has to perform following responsibilities:
Develop new yarns based on natural, synthetic, or blended fibers aligned with customer needs and market trends.
Optimize spinning parameters (ring, rotor, air-jet, compact, core-spun, etc.) for performance, consistency, and productivity.
Evaluate alternative fibers, finishes, and treatments for functionality (e.g., moisture-wicking, flame retardancy, stretch).
Conduct lab-scale yarn trials and coordinate with production for scale-up and process standardization.
Analyze yarn performance through physical and mechanical testing (e.g., CSP, tensile strength, elongation, evenness).
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation including product specifications, test reports, and SOPs.
Support the marketing and sales teams with technical insights and customer trials.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams – spinning, quality assurance, dyeing, and fabric development – to ensure seamless new product introduction.
Stay abreast of industry developments, sustainable raw materials, and advanced spinning technologies.
Engage in vendor and supplier discussions for sourcing innovative or high-performance materials
