Job Responsibilities:
∎ Database Developer Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of experience as a database developer, database engineer, database administrator or related role
∎ Bachelors/Masters in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
∎ Strong hands-on experience with NoSql/Postgres database
∎ Strong in SQL and PL/pgSQL experience in a Postgres 9.x/10.x/12.x UNIX/Windows-based environment.
∎ Experience in creating logical and physical relational databases
∎ 5+ years of SQL expertise-can write a query to do almost anything along with writing Triggers, procedures, views, indexes, functions etc
∎ Experience designing, implementing, testing, and deploying Postgres
∎ Expert in handling JSON data in database and queries
∎ Database tuning experience, database integration design and implementation, and management of database projects
∎ Demonstrated familiarity with the core concepts of database design including transactions, query planning, optimisation performance analysis, tuning and optimisation etc
∎ Demonstrated ability in data modeming and architecture, database implementation, performance tuning, and schema migration practices.
∎ Experience in building scalable data models in NoSql/Relational db's like MongoDB,Postgres/SQL Server etc
∎ Demonstrated ability to apply ETL into database development.
∎ Database Developer Duties and Responsibilities:
∎ Design and develop logical and physical data models along with preparing and presenting statistical information for both internal and external use
∎ Ensure database optimisation, integrity, consistency, security and privacy
∎ Providing support, guidance and collaboration with application developers to implement database architectures in support of enhancements to existing systems
∎ Create scripts to build new database objects
∎ Develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers and views in line with business logics
∎ Develop, modify or configure moderate / high complex SQL applications based on requirements provided by the business analysis and architecture teams
∎ Work in a collaborative environment to review current systems and present ideas for system improvements
∎ Assist with schema design, code review and SQL query tuning
∎ Review and approve database design by the technical team
∎ Providing assistance to others in topics related to data management
∎ Creating reports on databases
∎ Develop policy and procedure related to database design
∎ Upgrade and improve data and application schema, preparing design documents and functional specifications
∎ Troubleshoot performance issues, fine-tune databases and index analysis
∎ Coordinate with team members to ensure releases are deployed correctly and that all application processes are followed as per the defined standard operating procedures
∎ Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment-can address bugs with QA, plan schemas with engineering, and respond quickly to other business needs
∎ Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues, and experience with best practices around database operations
