Job Summary:

Muslim Hands is a UK-registered international relief and development NGO, established in 1993 in response to the Bosnian crisis. Since then, it has grown into a global humanitarian organization delivering emergency aid and long-term development programs in over 32 countries.

Muslim Hands has been operating in Bangladesh since 1995, focusing on improving the lives of vulnerable communities through interventions in Education, Health, Food Security, Livelihoods, Shelter, WASH, Religious Infrastructure and Emergency Relief.

Muslim Hands School of Excellence, Sylhet, a part of our Education Programme, is currently seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and responsible Computer Operator to join its administrative team. This position is essential to streamline administrative and academic data management in the school. The role will handle data entry, maintain digital records, generate reports, and collect and compile orphan information to ensure accurate tracking and timely support. By filling this position, the school will achieve efficient record-keeping, reduced paperwork errors, better compliance with reporting requirements, enhanced data security, and improved support for vulnerable students like orphans, ultimately contributing to smoother school administration, timely decision-making, and overall institutional effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management & Entry:

• Perform accurate and timely data entry of student academic records, attendance, examination results, and staff information into the school's digital database.

• Collect, compile, and maintain comprehensive digital records for orphan and vulnerable students to ensure accurate tracking, needs assessment, and timely delivery of support services.

• Digitize and archive physical documents, certificates, and administrative files to create a secure and organized digital repository.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Generate regular reports from the database as required by the Principal, Programme team, or Country Office, including student performance reports, orphan sponsorship updates, and statistical summaries.

• Assist in preparing official correspondence, notices, circulars, and presentation materials using word processing and spreadsheet software.

• Ensure all reports and documents are formatted professionally and free of errors.

Administrative Support:

• Provide administrative and technical support to the school office for day-to-day operations.

• Assist in managing school databases, including student enrollment, fee records, and inventory of educational materials and assets.

• Support the Finance team by entering basic financial data or assisting with budget tracking as needed.

System Maintenance & Data Security:

• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all school data, particularly sensitive information related to orphans and beneficiaries.

• Regularly back up school data to prevent loss and maintain data recovery systems.

• Report any technical issues with computers, printers, or software to the appropriate authority and assist in basic troubleshooting.

Coordination & Communication:

• Liaise with teachers and administrative staff to collect and verify data for reporting and record-keeping purposes.

• Support the coordination of school events, examinations, and meetings by preparing materials and managing related data.

• Maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in handling confidential information.

• Comply strictly with the school's safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring data handling practices protect the privacy and dignity of all students.
