Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee all technical aspects of production processes across knit and woven factories within the cluster.
∎ Lead the implementation of new sewing techniques and methods to improve efficiency and product quality.
∎ Review and approve technical packages, specifications, and sewing methods for new styles.
∎ Set technical standards for sewing quality, seam construction, SPI (stitches per inch), thread selection, and finishing.
∎ Analyze sewing defects and lead root cause analysis to implement corrective and preventive actions.
∎ Identify skill gaps in sewing operators, supervisors, and technical staff.
∎ Develop and execute training programs for sewing techniques, machine handling, and quality checkpoints.
∎ Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
∎ Recommend appropriate sewing machines and attachments based on style and fabric characteristics.
∎ Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure minimal downtime of critical machines.
∎ Work with maintenance teams to upgrade or modify machines for enhanced performance.
∎ Conduct periodic technical audits to ensure production alignment with industrial engineering benchmarks.
∎ Support cost engineering through process re-engineering and automation.
∎ Collaborate with merchandising, production planning, and quality assurance departments for seamless style execution.
∎ Provide regular updates to senior management on production efficiency, quality KPIs, and technical challenges.
∎ Maintain and analyze data related to line performance, quality rejections, and machine productivity.
