Minimum Masters’ degree from any reputed University. (Candidates having degree from Public University and Insurance related degree or BIA Diploma is preferred)
Minimum 10 years of experience within the General (Non-Life) Insurance sector out of which at least 5 years of hands-on experience as In-charge in claims department.
Proven track record and sound knowledge of handling Fire, Marine, Motor, Miscellaneous and Engineering insurance claims.
Practical expertise in claim assessment, settlement procedures, reinsurance recovery claims, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Ideally not exceeding 45 years as on the date of application (relaxable for exceptionally deserving candidates).
Deep understanding of general insurance products, policy wordings, market tariffs, and IDRA regulations in Bangladesh.
Robust leadership, data-driven analytical capability, sharp negotiation skills, and firm decision-making judgment with acute attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English, including professional report preparation.
Advanced skills in MS Office (specifically Word and Excel); familiarity with automated Insurance Management Software/Core Insurance Modules is highly desirable.
High level of professional integrity, strong ethical standards, and a proven ability to work under pressure to meet tight corporate deadlines.

Job Description / Responsibility
Supervise and manage the entire claims lifecycle from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to final settlement across all lines of general insurance (Fire, Marine, Marine Hull, Aviation, Motor, Engineering and Miscellaneous).
Develop, enforce, and update internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve departmental efficiency, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction.
Maintain comprehensive, accurate claims records, registers, and documentation; establish precise claim reserves to ensure financial readiness.
Review and analyze claim documents, survey reports, investigation findings, and legal/contractual provisions to determine liability and admissibility.
Critically verify claims submissions to proactively detect and prevent fraudulent or exaggerated exposures.
Personally handle complex, high-value claims, providing strategic recommendations directly to Management.
Ensure all processing and settlements strictly comply with prevailing insurance laws, company policies, tariffs, and IDRA guidelines.
Coordinate seamlessly with insured clients, brokers, agents, surveyors, loss adjusters, reinsurers (both local & overseas), legal counsel, and regulatory authorities.
Prepare periodic claims reports, Management Information Systems (MIS), and analytical statements for Management and the Board.
Analyze historical claims data and emerging trends to provide actionable feedback for underwriting decisions and corporate risk management strategies.
Lead, mentor, and build the capacity of the claims team to foster operational excellence.
Willingness to visit or supervision of claim affected areas frequently as and when required.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
