• Utility Management: Supervising the maintenance of essential hospital utilities such as drainage systems, water supply lines, and waste disposal infrastructure to ensure they function properly and safely.
• Landscaping and Site Development: Maintaining the hospital grounds, including roads, walkways, parking areas, and exterior retaining walls. This ensures easy access for patients and emergency vehicles.
• Coordination with Other Departments: Working closely with the electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering teams to ensure all new projects and maintenance tasks are well-coordinated and do not disrupt critical hospital services.
• Emergency Response: Being the first point of contact for any structural or infrastructure emergencies, such as a water pipe burst, a roof leak, or a wall crack. This includes assessing the damage and coordinating a rapid repair team.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of all building plans, inspection reports, repair work, and project documentation. This is important for historical reference and legal compliance.
• Contractor and Vendor Management: Vetting, hiring, and supervising external contractors and vendors for specialized construction or repair jobs, ensuring they follow hospital policies and safety protocols.
