Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Bio-Chemistry, Chemistry, Electrical, Industrial & Production Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
MBA or professional certification in Supply Chain Management will be considered an added advantage.
2-3 years of experience in Engineering/Chemical Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Technical Supply Chain Management.
Experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, or Pharmaceutical industries will be preferred.
Professional experience in engineering/chemical procurement and strategic sourcing.
Strong analytical and negotiation ability.
Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office package, especially MS Excel and Power BI.
Good communication and stakeholder management skill.
Supplier development and cost optimization skill.

The Category Specialist, is responsible for strengthening engineering and chemical procurement capabilities through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and procurement optimization to ensure cost-effective, timely, and sustainable procurement of engineering materials, machinery, CAPEX projects, and technical services while supporting operational excellence and business growth.
Reports to: Strategic Sourcing Manager Engineering / Agribusiness Procurement
What You Will Do
Manage sourcing and procurement activities for electro-mechanical/chemical items, engineering spares, machinery, CAPEX projects, and technical services.
Develop category-wise sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity, competitive pricing, and procurement efficiency.
Lead commercial negotiations with local and international suppliers considering Incoterms, payment terms, and logistics optimization.
Evaluate technical specifications, supplier capabilities, equipment performance, and lifecycle cost through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
Support engineering project procurement activities through proper planning and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Develop alternative suppliers and backup sourcing strategies to minimize supply risks and ensure business continuity.
Conduct supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and capability assessments while maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.
Maintain procurement documentation, ERP-based procurement processes, KPI reports, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements
