Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. To promote safe and efficient plant operations, MGI is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and proactive Safety Engineers – HSE&S. He responsible for implementing HSE&S procedures at the shop-floor level, conducting safety inspections, identifying workplace hazards, monitoring PPE, PTW and LOTOTO compliance, supporting incident prevention and investigation, and promoting safe work practices during assigned shifts to ensure a safe and incident-free working environment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update factory-level Health, Safety, Environmental & Social (HSE&S) manuals, procedures, forms, and checklists to ensure compliance with MGI policies and legal requirements.

  • Coordinate the Internal Safety Committee as its secretary to ensure effective participation and compliance with Bangladesh Labour Rules.

  • Identify and record unsafe acts and conditions to prevent accidents through early corrective actions.

  • Recommend and follow up preventive measures with management to reduce workplace risks and hazards.

  • Coordinate and maintain "Risk Assessments" proactively to prevent HSE&S incidents, and conduct training for all staff based on the identified risks in the "Risk Assessments".

  • Report and investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.

  • Prepare and submit incident investigation reports with SMART recommendations to support management decision-making.

  • Liaise with the central HSE&S team to align site activities with group-level standards and initiatives.

  • Conduct and document regular inspections, audits, and monitoring to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.

  • Coordinate and follow up a system with the central fire department to maintain the fire safety for workplace areas, and ensure all fire safety equipment in an establishment is always in good shape by getting inspections done by the fire department.

  • Perform a Training Need Analysis (TNA), train and educate staff on HSE&S topics to keep them informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines, and maintain training calendar and records.
