Additional Requirements:

• Must have proficient knowledge and expertise in organizing the HSE&S Management System.

• Certification of the NEBOSH / IOSH and “Fire Safety Manager (6 monthly) course” from BFSCD or Alliance / Accord / Nirapon would be an added advantage

• Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Rules, local safety regulations, international standards and best practices.

• Experience in risk assessment, safety audits and report preparation.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong communication skills, especially in English.

Job Context:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. To strengthen safe and compliant plant operations, MGI is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and technically sound Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – HSE&S. He responsible for managing day-to-day site safety activities, supervising safety personnel, conducting inspections and risk assessments, coordinating safety training and emergency preparedness, and ensuring effective implementation of HSE&S standards across the assigned Rolling Mill or SMS plant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day site safety operations to ensure safe and compliant plant activities.

• Supervise Safety Engineers and Safety Man/Supervisors across shifts to ensure adequate safety coverage.

• Develop and implement plant-specific HSE&S procedures and checklists to maintain standardized safety practices.

• Conduct floor inspections, toolbox meetings, and safety audits to identify and control workplace hazards.

• Coordinate risk assessments and follow up corrective actions to reduce operational risks.

• Ensure incident and near-miss investigations and follow up recommendations to prevent recurrence.

• Coordinate with the Fire & Safety Department to ensure fire safety equipment remains operational and ready for emergencies.

• Conduct Training Need Analysis and organize safety training to strengthen employee safety competency.

• Ensure shift coverage and duty rostering of safety personnel to maintain continuous safety monitoring.

• Report HSE&S performance and critical safety issues to the Sr. Manager – HSE&S to support timely management decisions.

• Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure compliance with HSE&S requirements.

• Support the Internal Safety Committee to strengthen employee participation in workplace safety.

• Recommend preventive measures for unsafe acts and conditions to minimize workplace incidents.
