Experience:
Certifications in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, ISO 45001) are mandatory.
Certification on the 6-month long “Fire Safety Manager” course from Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (BFSCD) or Alliance / Accord / Nirapon are additional advantages.
Relevant safety certifications (Certified Fire Protection Specialist – CFPS, NFPA, etc.) are preferred.
Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Rules, DIFE, Fire Prevention and Extinction Act, Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) Fire Safety local safety regulations, international standards (e.g. NFPA codes) and other best practices.
Experience in risk assessment, safety audits, and report preparation.
This is a station-based role, so residing after duty hours within the factory complex under company accommodation is expected.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong communication skills, especially in English.
Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. To promote safe and efficient plant operations, MGI is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and proactive Safety Engineers – HSE&S. He responsible for implementing HSE&S procedures at the shop-floor level, conducting safety inspections, identifying workplace hazards, monitoring PPE, PTW and LOTOTO compliance, supporting incident prevention and investigation, and promoting safe work practices during assigned shifts to ensure a safe and incident-free working environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Implement HSE&S procedures, manuals, and checklists at shift level to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
Conduct shift-wise safety inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions and prevent workplace incidents.
Coordinate toolbox talks, safety walks, and near-miss reporting activities to strengthen employee and contractor safety awareness.
Maintain risk assessment records for assigned areas to support effective hazard control.
Support incident and near-miss investigations and follow up corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor PPE, Permit to Work (PTW), and LOTOTO compliance to ensure safe execution of work activities.
Coordinate with the Fire & Safety Department to ensure fire safety equipment remains operational and ready for emergencies.
Maintain shift HSE&S records, inspection reports, and safety logs to ensure accurate safety documentation.
Support TNA implementation and conduct shift-level safety training to improve workforce competency.
Escalate critical safety issues to plant operations and HSE&S management to enable prompt corrective action.
Monitor workplace safety practices and promote safe behavior to strengthen a prevention-focused safety culture.
Perform other HSE&S responsibilities assigned by management to support safe and efficient plant operations.
