Position: Civil Engineer – Projects
Department: Project Development & Construction
Experience: 4–7 years
Location: Dhaka

Role Overview
We are looking for a competent and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the execution of construction projects from planning through completion. The role will involve coordinating with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers, ensuring that projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure projects progress according to approved schedules.

  • Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants and other project consultants.

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings and identify discrepancies, design issues or site-related requirements.

  • Communicate with architects and consultants regarding design modifications, technical issues and construction requirements.

  • Prepare, review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.

  • Prepare quantity take-offs and verify quantities submitted by contractors and suppliers.

  • Assist in preparing project budgets, cost estimates and procurement requirements.

  • Monitor construction costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.

  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors and ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications and approved materials.

  • Inspect construction works to ensure required quality standards are maintained.

  • Monitor project progress against construction schedules and report delays or issues to management.

  • Coordinate material requirements with procurement and ensure timely availability at project sites.

  • Verify contractor bills based on actual site measurements and completed work.

  • Maintain proper records of drawings, measurements, BOQs, variation orders, site instructions and project documentation.

  • Assist in evaluating variations and additional works and provide cost implications to management.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements and project specifications.

  • Support project handover, snagging and rectification works.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in real estate, commercial buildings or large residential projects.

  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity surveying and construction costing.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and building systems.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Project/Primavera; knowledge of quantity-surveying software will be an advantage.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage contractors and consultants effectively.

  • Willingness to regularly visit and supervise project sites.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in multi-storied residential, commercial or mixed-use developments will be strongly preferred.
