Responsibilities & Context: Department: Sample & CAD Development
Reporting To: Sample & CAD In-Charge
Job Purpose
Create accurate patterns, grade sizes, and generate marker plans using CAD software to support sample development and bulk production with optimal fabric efficiency, fit integrity, and technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop base patterns from tech packs and specifications, ensuring alignment with block patterns, measurement tolerances, and construction standards.
- Execute grading using defined grading rules, shrinkage allowances, and size-set accuracy to maintain fit consistency across sizes.
- Create efficient marker layouts considering grainline, nap direction, stripe/check matching, usable fabric width, and marker efficiency.
- Review and validate patterns for seam allowance accuracy, ease allowance, dart placement, balance, and overall construction feasibility.
- Collaborate with QA, technical, and production teams to finalize SPI standards, tolerance mapping, and technical references for PPM.
- Maintain pattern and marker documentation including revision tracking, version control, approval logs, and buyer-wise and style-wise data archives.
- Run consumption analysis and provide marker efficiency reports to support accurate costing and buyer approval.
- Adjust markers based on spreading limitations, lay plans, cut order plans, and bulk fabric width variations.
- Ensure all approved patterns and markers are fully production-ready and compliant with buyer specifications.
