Experience:
3 years of experience in nutrition projects with INGO/NGO/UN and related field experience in CMAM.
Experience working in nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific programming.
Good verbal and written skills in Bangla & English, with local language preferred
Ability to work effectively under stress in a challenging camp environment.
Flexibility to take on additional tasks and initiative when necessary.
Cultural sensitivity, empathy, and awareness of the target population’s needs.
Job Context
The Assistant Nutrition Coordinator will serve as the administrative and programmatic coordinator of the GK-Integrated Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) program in the host community in Moheshkhali and Pekua Upazilla. The role includes technical, management, and administrative activities in consultation with the Project Coordinator and Nutrition Coordinating with the Upazilla Health focal, UNO, and other relevant stakeholders.
Job Location: Office-based in Moheshkhali, Pekua, and Cox’s Bazar, with occasional field visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, considering timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including nutrition experts, government agencies, and community partners as well as donors.
Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
Provide effective leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment.
Oversee the collection and analysis of nutrition-related data, ensuring accuracy and relevance for project goals.
Prepare regular progress reports and documentation for project funders, stakeholders, and management. Timely generate & share the monthly, and quarterly of the program activity & stock, CPDR reports as well as narrative & completion reports.
Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-standard nutrition interventions.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in the field of nutrition.
Facilitate training and capacity-building activities for project staff and partners to enhance their skills and knowledge in nutrition.
Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
Program Support Activities:
Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, considering timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
To ensure technical support to all field-level activities according to guidelines / Protocols for smooth & effective program operations
Supervision of the IMCN activities in all the host communities of 59 nutrition facilities (CC/ FWC/CNC/UHSC) for both Moheshkhali & Pekua
To oversee and ensure that the standard treatment protocols are in place and followed by the field and center-level staff.
To define, track & implement the project activity indicators according to the field-level agreement
To make & maintain a DIP for keeping track of the project in line
Monitoring & Evaluation support
Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of nutrition interventions
To monitor the field-level program activities and prepare action plans based on the findings regularly
To analyze the reports of the facilities to identify gaps and take corrective measures on a regular/monthly basis
Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring tools and data collection processes
Capacity strengthening support
Identifying the need for training for the staff of the nutrition program
Facilitate training and capacity-building activities for project staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in nutrition
To regularly conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) based on need and capacitate the staff
Meeting, Coordination, and collaboration
Develop a productive working relationship with upazila, union, and field-level coordination with MoHFW and other stakeholders
Enable a friendly collaborative working culture within the team and conduct regular meetings with project staff to discuss and document lessons learned
Conduct regular monthly, and quarterly meetings & joint visits with other program and health facility staff to discuss and document lessons learned
Nutrition supplies and stock management
To make requisition for the supplies in time & follow-up to conduct the project smoothly
Ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the functioning of TSFP distribution (WSB++, WCB+, Veg.oil)
Make monthly physical inventory of all nutrition supplies, and submit monthly stock reports
Reporting& Documentation
Prepare comprehensive and timely reports for donors, highlighting project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned with field trip report
Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required documentation to donor
Finance& Compliance
Support the NC to track budgets and ensure spending on the program is in line with the approved budgets
Support the finance team in the submission of finance reports
Support the quantification, procurement plan development, raise procurement plans and support the purchase of nutrition supplied.
Ensure that the project adheres to relevant regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards.
Special Note
The Assistant Nutrition Coordinator may be assigned additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Nutrition Coordinator of GK.
