Education:

A graduate degree, preferably in Nutrition or Statistics, from a reputable institution with strong academic and professional credentials, is required. Candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in MEAL will be given preference.

  • Previous working experience in IMCN & CMAM programme and NGO work experience is preferable

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Nutrition programme.

  • Will give priority to those who have worked in both the host and camp levels

  • Ability to work effectively under stress in a challenging camp environment.

  • Flexibility to take on additional tasks and initiative when necessary.

  • Cultural sensitivity, empathy, and awareness of the target population’s needs.

  • Competent in the use of the ODK platform, Google Form, and advanced Microsoft Office application programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:
The MEAL Assistant will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning activities of GK. This position will be responsible for the quality of the MEAL works, ensuring that it captures the impact, outcomes, outputs, and activities of the project of GK with the aim of optimizing the performance, enhancing the organizational culture, and ensuring that all relevant areas. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both programme and operational.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing data to track progress towards project goals.

  • Developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans.

  • Systematically collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess project progress and outcomes.

  • Implement data quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to standards.

  • Prepare and disseminate timely and accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.

  • Establish and manage effective feedback and complaint mechanisms for project beneficiaries.

  • Provide training and support to project staff on monitoring, evaluation, and data collection methodologies.

  • Develop different tools to support the programme activities.

  • Explore and integrate technology solutions for efficient data collection and analysis.

  • Contribute to the creation of knowledge products, case studies, and success stories.

  • Preparing reports and other documentation to share findings and recommendations with stakeholders.

  • The MEAL Assistant works closely with the MEAL Officer and MEAL Manager to ensure that the project is meeting its intended objectives and making a positive impact.

Provide support to Project Activities:

  • Develop different tools to collect and analyze the programme data.

  • Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies.

  • Oversee the systematic collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data to assess project progress.

  • Ensuring that project activities meet predefined quality standards and align with established project guidelines.

  • Prepare reports on performance, interpret data to generate meaningful insights and recommendations. Provide reporting guidelines and documentation procedures. Stay updated on emerging technologies that can enhance MEAL processes.

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards.

  • Support the timely submission of high-quality reports.

  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies by providing rapid MEAL support and analysis.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop programme monitoring tools.

  • Design and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation plan for the project.

  • Develop tools for data collection and analysis.

  • Regularly track and assess project activities to ensure they align with the project's goals and objectives.

  • Identification and development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress effectively.

  • Support in the analysis and interpretation of collected data, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods.

  • Contribute to the development of evaluation plans, outlining key activities, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Collaborate with project teams to refine and adapt monitoring and evaluation plans based on project needs.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of monitoring and evaluation findings to inform decision-making.

Accountability & Learning

  • Implement and manage effective feedback and complaint mechanisms for project beneficiaries.

  • Collaborate with project teams to incorporate beneficiary feedback into program improvement strategies.

  • Develop PDM tools and exit interview tools for the beneficiary.

  • Develop tools to collect monthly lessons that have been learned by the project staff and challenges.

  • Contribute to the development of case studies, success stories, and other knowledge products.

  • Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing sessions within the project team, encouraging the exchange of insights and experiences.

Data management & tools development

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data collected for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

  • Regularly review and update the project's Indicator Tracking Table (ITT) to reflect current project activities.

  • Use a centralized platform for document management, which makes it easy to organize and store reports in a structured manner.

  • Ensure the KPIs are measurable, relevant, and provide a comprehensive overview of project performance.

  • Design the dashboard to accommodate real-time data updates for immediate insights.

  • Display trends and changes in key indicators over time.

  • Design and develop tool for offline data collection on KOBO, Inform, or other ODK platforms.

  • Develop and maintain data collection tools.

Reporting & Analyzing

  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare comprehensive monitoring and evaluation reports.

  • Ensure reports are aligned with organizational and donor reporting requirements.

  • Facilitate timely submission of high-quality data and reports to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support in finalizing the project's monthly reporting and submission.

  • Regularly analyze project progress, impact, and activities, providing insights for decision-making.

  • Conduct random field visits to assess and validate data.

  • Contribute to the development of statistical reports based on collected data.
