Sterling Styles Limited is a 100% Export-oriented woven top-bottom garments manufacturing company, located at Ashulia. The company is seeking to appoint a talent aspirant to the Assistant Manager/Manager role in the VAT & Tax section of Accounts & Finance. The candidate has to lead the tax and VAT function by ensuring 100% compliance with Bangladesh's fiscal laws, optimizing tax liabilities through strategic planning, and representing the company before NBR authorities. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY if you do not have VAT & TAX Experience in the RMG Industry.
Oversee the maintenance of all VAT registers, including Mushak 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.6, 6.8, and 9.1 (VAT Return). Ensure all entries are reconciled with the General Ledger.
Supervise the Deduction of VAT at Source (VDS) and ensure the timely issuance of Mushak 6.6 certificates to vendors.
Identify opportunities for increasing VAT rebates on inputs to reduce the company's net tax burden.
Ensure accurate Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) as per the Income Tax Act 2023 (specifically covering Sections 86, 89, 90, 102, 108, etc.).
Prepare and monitor Advance Tax (Section 154) payments and manage Tax Provisioning schedules monthly.
Oversee the preparation and filing of Monthly/Annual Withholding Tax Returns and the Annual Corporate Tax Return.
Prepare detailed Landed Cost Sheets by calculating Customs Duty (CD), Regulatory Duty (RD), Supplementary Duty (SD), and Advance Tax (AT) for imported raw materials.
Coordinate with the Commercial team to ensure that VAT and Duty exemptions are correctly reflected in the books.
Act as the primary point of contact for External Auditors and NBR Officials during annual Tax/VAT audits.
Monitor changes in Finance Acts, SROs (Statutory Regulatory Orders), and General Orders to advise management on potential impacts.
