Job Context:
∎ Have an excellent understanding of the designated customer relating to key responsibility.
∎ Be the champion of all things related to designated customer such as:
∎ assortment, ways of working, strategy, quality, handwriting required and design tools.
∎ Manage designated teams to ensure all deadlines are met.
∎ Manage designated teams to ensure internal service levels are of highest standard.
∎ Manage designated teams to ensure external service levels are of highest standards.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ STRATEGY
∎ Put all designs into work and interpret correctly. Suggest alternatives and alterations where needed in conjunction with your line manager.
∎ Ensuring all requested designs meet required deadlines.
∎ Work alongside merchandise ensuring that any samples that are confirmed orders are following all KDS PD team standards and customer standards.
∎ Suggest fabrics, trims and colors to ensure sample submissions are as perfect as possible and match the customer's requirement.
∎ Have an excellent understanding of the customer, what their ranges are like, level of fashion ability, what their price points are and what they source from KDS.
∎ Seek to expand our customer's offers by exploring additional product opportunities and working on new products alongside KDS UK to develop these and increase our business levels.
∎ Train and support junior team members with best practices as agreed with your line manager.
∎ Have a high-level knowledge and understanding of external suppliers and sources. Be an expert at sourcing and guiding your own team throughout that process.
∎ Be aware of changing and emerging trends across all our product categories: menswear, ladies wear, kids wear, sleepwear, swimwear and active wear.
∎ Be aware of what can be done in house and what requires outsourcing.
∎ Be always aware of what products are being made for other customers to be able to consolidate or tag onto already available sourced fabrics and trims.
∎ Coordinate frequently with PD team members and keep up to date with ongoing development across the business.
∎ Overall: be aware of what can be done in house and what requires outsourcing.
∎ Develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers at all levels.
∎ Attend customer meetings where required and drive the PD part in these.
∎ Keeping your manager up to date with your workload as often as required.
∎ Drive and manage the direct reports. Set expectations and ensure that they are met. Always be aware of their workload and escalate any concerns to your manager.
∎ Keep the UK office updated throughout the sample/development process and ensure that both BD and UK offices are aligned.
∎ Endure that the PD team meets all required deadlines.
∎ Attend customer meetings and present trends/fabrics/samples: ensure you know your audience in advance so that the right product is shown for greatest potential.
∎ Undertake domestic and in some cases overseas travel where required, representing KDS and deputizing for PD Senior Manager.
∎ Deputizing for the PD Senior Manager in all aspects during absence/travel.
∎ RESEARCH AND DESIGN
∎ Work alongside KDS textile to develop new fabrics every season. Give them direction with the help of KDS UK on what fabric trends are coming through and develop accordingly. Focus on new versions of fabrics used from previous seasons and develop updates.
∎ Work with all our textile partners/mills and source new fabrics that are coming through in the market. Be aware and have a clear understanding of what fits into our customer's price point.
∎ Aid the UK design team with design research.
∎ Create tech packs for the sample room from KDS UK designs.
∎ Assist with designs and help with design amends.
∎ Ensure all samples are in the right size, right shape, and right fit. Develop proto samples if required to increase right sample first time hit rate.
∎ PRODUCT FINALISATION
∎ Ensure all stakeholders that are part of the team relating to the customer are consistently up to date with samples in work and submission plan. Communicate any issues or foreseen issues and offer a solution.
∎ Always follow the internal ways of working with the merchandising teams.
∎ Work with the merchandising team upfront on all necessary information they require for costing purposes.
∎ Ensure our product development is of the right quality and to the customer's standards and requirements.
∎ Ensure all trackers always contain the correct and most up to date information and are shared internally and externally on a weekly basis.
∎ Ensure you are always up to date with all customer's team members and their job roles.
∎ Ensure subordinates feel supported and that you include them in all relevant communication.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 35 years
∎ Open to travel - Local and Abroad
∎ Sound Knowledge in Fabrics, Print and Embellishment techniques.
∎ Up-to-date with current trend and business changes.
∎ Expert level user of Graphic software/s.
