Education:
    • Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Supply Chain Management
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Masters in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification such as CIPS/CSCM/PGD in SCM will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in procurement, preferably in Animal Feed Manufacturing, agriculture or the manufacturing sector.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, market dynamics, and supplier management.

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / or similar) and MS Office.

  • Strong ethical standards and integrity.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight deadlines.



Responsibilities & Context:

The Assistant Manager – Procurement will be responsible for managing all sourcing, vendor relationships, and purchase operations to ensure a timely, cost-effective, and quality supply of materials, goods, and services for the company’s production and operational needs. The incumbent will play a vital role in vendor management, price negotiation, procurement planning, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute the end-to-end procurement process — from requisition to delivery.

  • Source and procure raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares, consumables, and general items locally.

  • Review purchase requisitions and ensure accuracy, completeness, and budget compliance.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, finance, and warehouse teams to forecast and plan procurement needs.

  • Coordinate timely delivery of materials to avoid stock-outs or production delays.

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure quality and cost competitiveness & maintain an updated database of approved vendors.

  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations based on quality, delivery, price, and service.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

  • Ensure all purchase orders, contracts, and invoices are properly documented and maintained.

  • Ensure all procurement practices adhere to company SOPs and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain transparency and accountability in all procurement dealings.

  • Support management with data-driven insights to improve procurement efficiency.
