Job Context:
∎ Shushilan - a national NGO has been working in the field of Socio-economic development, Education & ICT and Health & Nutrition Program, Disaster, Climate Change & Environmental Resource Management, Human Rights and Good Governance and Sustainable Peoples Organization Bangladesh since 1991.
∎ Shushilan with the funding and technical assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is promoting sustainable livelihood support for the affected host communities and simultaneously building the capacity of the government to address the relevant pressing needs. Shushilan is implementing the project titled ‘Sustainability Aggregation Centers connecting with Smallholders’ Groups (SAC-SHG) in Cox’s Bazar’ to facilitate increased production, market development and improved access to local resources by the target beneficiaries.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide assistance to Local Service Providers LSPs) within his/her assigned Unions.
∎ Take part in formation of Farmers Field School, Farmers group under the guidance of the Project Officer of Shushilan and Respective FAO colleagues of the FAO to implement the SAFE PLUS Project;
∎ Assist/conduct participatory Market Chain Analysis (PMCA), Sub sector analysis in collaboration with farmers’ group/FFS, to develop a business plan for each group;
∎ Assist farmers group in increasing crop intensity and innovation in the following subsector;
∎ Documentation, monitoring and reporting and develop monthly report in prescribed format;
∎ Update farmers profile, production prediction, economic return of production and initiative by FFS/farmers’ group;
∎ To promote farm mechanization & diversification (crop, livestock and fisheries), judicious use of water resources for irrigation, post-production activities, and Good Agronomic Practices (GAP);
∎ Promote financial inclusion for farmers’ group by promoting access to agricultural credit, savings and its reinvestment in profitable activities;
∎ Facilitate farmers’ groups to link with Aggregation Center and strengthen Aggregation Center Management Committee in consultation with Market Development Officer;
∎ Facilitate farmers’ groups to initiate Digital Village Center(DVC) and link farmers’ groups with Aggregation Center cum digital village center;
∎ Technical support to farmers on homestead vegetables gardening following different methods;
∎ Data collection on homestead vegetables gardening in the host communities and Rohingya camps;
∎ Perform any other tasks as required by the management;

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2-3 years working experiences with agricultural projects, livelihood projects and markets. Experiences will be flexible who have diploma in Agriculture/Fisheries/Livestock.
∎ Market literacy/leadership, agricultural production/results oriented.
∎ Effective communication and relationship building with buyer, seller and DAE/DLS/DoF
∎ Problem solving and decision making for the farmers’ group.
∎ Time flexibility;
∎ Basic computer literacy on MS word and MS Excel.
∎ Able to ride bicycle
∎ Practicing gender and cultural diversity
∎ Able to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc

Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
