Shushilan, a national reputed NGO is going to implement a project entitled the Community Mobilization Programme (CMP) supported by SMC, focused on community engagement, behavior change, and health promotion. It operates through structured planning NGO partnerships, Gold Stare Member (GSM) networks, and BCC interventions such as meetings, training, and promotional campaigns. Under the CMP activities Shushilan will implement its assign activities in different Upazilas under Jhinahdha, Meherpur, Narail, Khulna and Satkhira district. Shushilan is inviting application from the qualified and interested candidates for the following position.
Job Description / Responsibility
Antenatal care Check-up gathering at the community is one of the SMC's signature initiatives. SMC is providing Pregnancy Care Services to the pregnant women at the community level. Currently four national NGOs have been included in delivering the services in 120 Upazilas. Paramedics need to be conceptualized the maternal health, ANC Check-ups and understand about developing work plan for implementation. They will examine blood pressure, weight, height, anemia etc., and provide medications by a doctor/paramedic during the pregnant women gathering. Integration of Full Care (MMS) and Forbon (Calcium) tablet within the ANC service is one of the main goals of this initiative along with increasing the ANC Check-ups.
Identify, register, and maintain updated records of pregnant women within the assigned catchment area and ensure regular follow-up.
Take necessary initiatives to ensure that pregnant women receive at least four recommended Antenatal Care (ANC) services during pregnancy.
Establish and facilitate a minimum of 30 community service points within the assigned area (upazila) to provide regular ANC services to pregnant women.
Provide ANC/GMP/NCD services through regular sessions and ensure proper recording, documentation, and follow-up of service recipients according to project guidelines.
Ensure the implementation of at least 15 ANC sessions per month and take necessary measures to maximize attendance of pregnant women.
Provide quality counseling on maternal health, safe motherhood, nutrition, family planning, and newborn care using approved IEC/BCC materials.
Accurately complete and update ANC cards and other service records during each session.
Conduct urine tests (sugar and albumin) and other basic health screening services as required under the project guidelines.
Ensure the participation of Gold Star Members (GSMs) during service sessions and facilitate the promotion and distribution of health commodities through them.
Support project implementation at the Upazila and community levels following the guidance of the Project Office, District Team Leader (DTL), and Supervisor.
Work closely with GSMs to promote and facilitate community-based maternal health services.
Assist GSMs in identifying, updating, and maintaining lists of pregnant women within the community.
Maintain effective communication and coordination with local health and family planning service providers and other relevant stakeholders.
Maintain updated contact information of hospitals, emergency referral facilities, and healthcare providers at Upazila and Union levels.
Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, work plans, and other project documentation.
Prepare case studies, success stories, and lessons learned from project activities when required.
Ensure proper preservation and maintenance of all community mobilization records, reports, and project documents.
Participate in training, orientation, review meetings, and capacity-building activities organized by the project.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor, District Team Leader, or Project Management Team.
