Education and Experience

Master's degree in any subject of Social Science/Agricultural Science/Environmental Science/Food and Nutrition Science with 7 years of experience, including at least 3 years working on food system, agro-ecology, nutrition.At least 5 years of professional experience in project management, preferably in sustainable agriculture/food system/nutrition/agro-ecology/market & value chain development and advocacy related project.Experience in working with networks, strong communication skills and close integration with interventions at the community level.Proven experience in team leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement.Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles.Experience working with government agencies and local communities in Bangladesh in an asset.§  Practical knowledge and experiences on IEC/BCC materials development.

• Age limit maximum 55 years. Can be relaxed for the candidates with experience in food system, nutrition, agro-ecology related project.

• Knowledge of safe production, nutrition, climate change adaptation, water management, and agriculture in the context of Bangladesh.

• Have willingness to work at field level with farmers§  It is Global Programme so Fluency in English is essential.

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing a wide range of activities to promote socio-economic development for poor and marginalized communities and also advocates for universal human rights and good governance through issue-based campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto `Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of ‘A just and prosperous society where every individual lives with dignity, freedom and equal opportunity’. The organization has structured its activities under five major programs, which include 1. Microfinance 2. Agroecology Focused Agri-Food System Transformation 3. Governance, Rights and Justice 4. Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion and 5. Community Development and Youth Empowerment. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a four years (04) Global Programme ‘Nutrition Smart Community": Strengthening adaptive and inclusive food systems to improve food security and climate resilience in South Asia (India, Nepal, Bangladesh)’, supported by Private German sponsor Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. (WHH) at Singair Upazilla of Manikgonj District with the objective ‘Government and civil society decision-makers at various levels use community-based and cross-sectoral approaches (local food system approach) to sustainably improve the food security of vulnerable groups’. The project overall goals is ‘the food security of vulnerable communities is improved through the establishment of inclusive and climate-resilient food systems’. By the end of the project, strong community structures, effective food management and improved cross-sectoral cooperation should be in place to ensure a fair and resilient food system. In addition, it will be ensured that all planned services are provided, transition mechanisms are implemented and the results are measured against the objectives. WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘National Networking and Advocacy Coordinator’ for this project.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management for The Nutrition Smart Community project implementation.

• Ensure overall coordination and communication between WHH and other project partner, local authority as well as Local Administration.

• Ensure overall collaboration, coordination and networking with different Govt. organizations and Private sector organizations such as DAE, DLS, BOAN-BARI, BMD, CAB, University, BFSA, SAARC and BIMSTEC.

• Ensure required technical assistance to Knowledge Website Expert, Technical Expert Training and community resource persons as and when needed for successful implementation of the programme.

• Develop and implement the project work plan, ensuring efficient and timely execution of activities.

• Contribute climate-resilient food systems for all people in the country based on agro-ecology.

• Oversee the performance of the WAVE-PMU team, including Knowledge Website Expert, Technical Expert Training.

• Monitor and track project progress against objectives and indicators, identifying and addressing any challenges or deviations.

• Ensure efficient coordination with WHH & WAVE Management and other stakeholders.

• Liaise with relevant government agencies and local communities to facilitate project implementation.

• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, financial reports, and other required documents.

• Represent the project at meetings, workshops, and other events.

• Manage project budget and ensure sound financial management practices.

• Identify and implement strategies to ensure project sustainability beyond the project period.

• Perform any other duties assigned by WHH & WAVE management.

Salary and Benefits

• Monthly gross salary will be BDT 110,000-115,000/- (including all) and would be negotiable. 

• Mobile phone and Travel allowance will be provided as per the project budgetary provision.
