  • Age At least 26 years
  • Minimum 4–6 years of professional experience in humanitarian/development project management, with at least 2–3 years in senior technical roles focused on Gender, GBV, Protection, or GEDSI.

  • Direct experience working in the Rohingya Refugee Response in Cox's Bazar within a Consortium or multi-partner framework is highly preferred.

  • Proven track record of managing sub-grants funded by international donors (DFAT, FCDO, USAID, or UN agencies).

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Deep expertise in Gender Equality, GBV prevention/response frameworks, GEDSI intersectional analysis, and gender-diverse community inclusion.

  • Strong understanding of Cox’s Bazar humanitarian governance structures (RRRC, CiC, Sector/Sub-sector systems).

  • Demonstrated experience leading or co-leading technical Communities of Practice (CoPs) or inter-agency working groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, work plans, and complex reporting cycles.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) andGoogle Workspace for reports and presentations

Interpersonal & Language Skills

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Bengali communication skills (knowledge of Chittagonian/Rohingya dialect is a strong advantage).

  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and facilitation skills to work collaboratively across international and national partner organizations.



Responsibilities & Context:

Project Title: Protection-Centred and Locally Driven Response for Rohingya Refugees in Cox’s Bazar
Job Context: Nari Maitree (NM), a well-established women-led NGO with 43 years of experience in Bangladesh, dedicated to empowering women, children, and marginalized communities through human rights, gender equality, disaster resilience, and health initiatives. As a key consortium partner of IRC in the DFAT-funded program "Protection-Centred and Locally Driven Response for Rohingya Refugees in Cox’s Bazar," Nari Maitree leads the consortium's thematic technical domain on GBV Prevention & Response, Gender Equality, and Gender-Inclusive GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion).
Duty Station: Ukhiya, CoxsBazar, Bangladesh (with frequent field visits to Rohingya camps and host communities)

Position Summary: The Project Coordinator will represent Nari Maitree within the DFAT-funded Consortium led by the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This position will provide overall leadership and oversight of Nari Maitree’s operational, programmatic, financial, and technical delivery in Cox’s Bazar, ensuring timely and quality implementation of project activities in line with DFAT requirements, consortium agreements, and relevant sector standards. The position will coordinate closely with IRC, consortium partners, government authorities, including the RRRC and Camp-in-Charge (CiC), and Nari Maitree management to ensure effective project implementation, coordination, and accountability.
The Project Coordinator will support Nari Maitree’s contribution to consortium-wide Gender, Gender Diversity, and GEDSI Intersectionality initiatives while ensuring effective implementation of WGSS, Multipurpose Activities, GBV Case Management, PSS, prevention, and community-based interventions. The position will also oversee staff capacity strengthening, budget and target monitoring, reporting, coordination, and operational planning, while supporting progressive localization and strengthening Nari Maitree’s leadership within the consortium.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Technical Leadership & Consortium Co-Leadership (GEDSI & Intersectionality)

  • Lead and facilitate the Consortium’s GEDSI & Intersectionality Community of Practice (CoP) on Gender & Gender Diversity, collaborating with CDD (Disability Lead) and external groups (e.g., Bandhu / Gender Diversity Working Group under the Protection Sector).

  • Drive the design, implementation, and quality assurance of Gender-Diverse inclusion, GBV prevention, and intersectional analysis models across all 7 consortium partners.

  • Provide continuous technical guidance, capacity strengthening, and SOP tools to consortium members to guarantee safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive programming.

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate project-related trainings, workshops, orientations, and staff capacity-building initiatives based on identified technical and programmatic needs.

  • Develop and regularly update the training plan and coordinate with the IRC Technical Team to ensure timely and effective organization of trainings, including facilitation support from IRC and the GBV Sub-Sector, where applicable.

  • Develop and monitor staff capacity-building plans and ensure appropriate coaching, mentoring, and follow-up support to strengthen staff competencies.

  • Provide overall technical oversight of Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS), Multipurpose Activities, PSS, GBV Case Management, community engagement, and other project interventions.

Project Management, Operations & PMU Representation

  • Represent Nari Maitree as an active member of the Consortium Project Management Unit (PMU), participating in regular management, operational, and adaptive planning sessions.

  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, burn rates, and budget utilization in coordination with Finance and relevant program teams, ensuring activities remain within approved budgets.

  • Review and monitor project targets, achievements, and implementation progress and take corrective actions where gaps are identified.

  • Ensure full compliance with DFAT standards, IRC sub-grant agreements, and Nari Maitree’s internal financial, safeguarding, and procurement policies.

Sector Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Nari Maitree and the Consortium at camp-level and sector coordination forums, including the Rohingya Coordination Platform (RCP), GBV Sub-Sector, Protection Sector, RRRC, and Camp in Charge (CiC) authorities.

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of CiC needs assessments in Nari Maitree-implemented locations and ensure findings inform project planning and implementation.

  • Coordinate with RRRC and relevant government authorities to obtain required approvals, permissions, and administrative support for project activities.

  • Build and maintain proactive relationships with government actors (MoWCA, DSS, DC office, Civil Surgeon) and local community leaders to support local advocacy and seamless project execution.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL) & Accountability (AAP)

  • Collaborate with the MEL CoP (IRC/NGO Forum) to implement robust MEAL frameworks, GEDSI-disaggregated data tracking, and feedback loops.

  • Ensure Nari Maitree’s field activities maintain accessible, survivor-centered, and child-safe feedback and accountability channels (AAP).

  • Review program progress and data with technical and program teams through regular review meetings and ensure follow-up actions are documented and implemented.

  • Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and donor-required project reports and other deliverables to IRC and relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare high-quality narrative reports, technical briefs, case studies, and contribution inputs for consortium-consolidated donor reporting.

Safeguarding, PSEAH & Risk Management

  • Uphold zero-tolerance standards for Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH), Child Safeguarding, and Fraud.

  • Proactively identify programmatic and operational risks in field sites and implement mitigation measures in coordination with the PMU.

Assignment Duration: Tentative 27 months
