Experience:
1. Command of English, both written and spoken. The person appointed must be able to draft letters, proposals and reports in English without assistance.
2. Proficiency in MS Word is essential. A working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and electronic mail is expected.
3. Ability to work independently, to set his or her own priorities and to meet deadlines without supervision.
4. Sound judgement, discretion and integrity in handling confidential matters.
5. Willingness to travel within Bangladesh to the project sites of the Society when required.
6. Sympathy with the aims and the work of palliative care.

Job Context
The Palliative Care Society of Bangladesh (PCSB) is a registered charitable, non-profit and apolitical organization. The Society works on the belief that the responsibility of caring for those dying of an incurable illness rests not only with the medical system, but with the wider community. Over the years it has gathered considerable experience, a body of trained people, and the confidence of patients, professionals and partners.
The Society now seeks a Manager, Administration & Compliance for its head office in Dhaka. The post reports directly to the Secretary General, who is the chief executive of the Society. The person appointed will hold the administration of the head office, coordinate the projects of the Society, look after its legal and compliance matters, and lead the raising of donations. The Society is looking for a person who can work upon his or her own initiative and who needs little supervision.
Job Responsibilities
1. Under the leadership of the Secretary General, run the day-to-day administration of the head office, including office systems, records, correspondence, procurement of supplies and supervision of support staff.
2. Coordinate with the project teams and field centres of the Society, follow the progress of each project against its plan and budget, and place regular reports before the Secretary General.
3. Maintain the registration and statutory records of the Society, and ensure that all returns, renewals and reports to the Ministry of Social Welfare, the NGO Affairs Bureau, the National Board of Revenue and other authorities are filed in time.
4. Keep the compliance of the Society in order, covering internal policies, donor conditions, agreements and undertakings, and bring any risk to the notice of the Secretary General at once.
5. Under the guidance of the Executive Committee, plan and carry on the fundraising of the Society, identify individual, corporate and institutional donors, prepare proposals and appeals, and follow each approach through to the receipt of the donation.
6. Arrange the meetings of the Board and of the committees, prepare the agenda and papers, and record and circulate the minutes.
7. Represent the Society before government offices, partner organizations and visitors as the Secretary General may direct.
8. Carry out such other duties as the Secretary General may assign from time to time.
