Experience

  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in safeguarding, PSEAH, protection, accountability (AAP/CFRM) or human resources-related roles within development and/or humanitarian organizations.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably with demonstrated responsibility for leading and managing a team.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling confidential and sensitive complaints/cases using a survivor-centred and do-no-harm approach.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Professional proficiency in English, particularly in written and spoken communication.

  • Sound knowledge of Safeguarding, PSEAH, AAP, CFRM, Employee Engagement standards, principles and relevant national and international frameworks.

  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication and training skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion, professionalism and integrity.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and coordination skills.

  • Good command of relevant digital tools and technologies for case management, documentation, reporting, data analysis and communication.

  • Ability to work effectively with senior management, programme/project teams, field staff, communities, partners and other stakeholders.

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project and field locations as required.

Responsibilities & Context:

Location of Posting: Head Office, Chattogram, with regular visits to project and field locations as required

Reporting: The Manager – Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement will report to the Head of HRD and will serve as the Unit Lead for the Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement Unit, supervising designated staff of the Unit.

Objective of the Position

The Manager – Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement will provide strategic and technical leadership to the Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement Unit, ensuring that PROTTYASHI's programmes, projects and workplace uphold high standards of safeguarding, prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH), accountability to affected populations and a positive, inclusive and engaged workplace culture.

The position will also provide technical guidance, supervision and capacity-building support to Unit staff and relevant personnel across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding & PSEAH

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of PROTTYASHI's Safeguarding and PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassments) policies, procedures and Code of Conduct across programme and operational areas.

  • Coordinate child safeguarding and protection-from-harm initiatives, ensuring alignment with relevant national and international standards and donor requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and capacity-building support to staff, partners and volunteers on safeguarding and PSEAH standards, reporting responsibilities and survivor-centred approaches.

  • Ensure safeguarding and PSEAH risks are identified, assessed and appropriately mitigated across projects through regular risk assessments and field monitoring visits.

  • Oversee the appropriate and confidential management of safeguarding and PSEAH concerns and complaints, including referral to authorized mechanisms in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Represent PROTTYASHI in relevant safeguarding and PSEAH coordination forums, working groups and networks with government, NGO/INGO and other stakeholders, as assigned.

  • Maintain up-to-date safeguarding and PSEAH documentation, records and reports while ensuring strict confidentiality and controlled access to sensitive information.

Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)

  • Lead the development and strengthening of PROTTYASHI's Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) framework across relevant programmes.

  • Oversee the Complaint, Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM), ensuring complaints and feedback from communities and stakeholders are appropriately received, documented, tracked, referred and responded to in a timely manner.

  • Ensure community engagement, participation, feedback and accountability approaches are integrated into programme and project design, implementation and monitoring.

  • Analyze CFRM and accountability data to identify trends, gaps, recurring issues and areas for improvement, and share findings and recommendations with programme teams and senior management.

  • Ensure relevant accountability commitments and actions are appropriately reflected in programme reporting and donor communications, as required.

Employee Engagement & Workplace Culture

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and internal communication across the organization.

  • Design and coordinate employee engagement surveys, feedback mechanisms and action plans to strengthen workplace culture and employee experience.

  • Coordinate recognition and engagement initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, respectful and motivated workforce.

  • Work closely with the HRD team to identify and address factors affecting employee morale, engagement, retention and wellbeing.

  • Support the development and implementation of policies, initiatives and activities that promote a safe, respectful, inclusive and engaging work environment.

Unit Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise and mentor staff of the Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement Unit, setting clear objectives and providing regular performance feedback.

  • Build the capacity of Unit staff through coaching, mentoring, training and professional development planning.

  • Plan, allocate and monitor the Unit's workload to ensure timely, effective and quality delivery of assigned responsibilities.

  • Prepare and submit timely workplans, reports, analyses and updates to the Head of HRD and senior management.

  • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration between the Unit and relevant departments, programmes and projects.

  • Promote continuous learning, good practice and organizational improvement within the Unit.

Additional Responsibility

The responsibilities outlined above are indicative and not exhaustive. The position holder may be required to undertake additional responsibilities and perform other relevant tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor/Head of HRD from time to time, in line with the organization's objectives, policies and operational requirements.



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary and Benefits: BDT 50,000/- per month during the six-month probationary period; BDT 61,320/- gross per month upon successful completion of probation. (Negotiable for highly experienced candidates)
