Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in safeguarding, PSEAH/PSEA, protection, accountability, AAP/CFRM, employee engagement, HR or related functions, preferably within an NGO, INGO, development or humanitarian organization.

  • Experience working with complaints and feedback mechanisms, community engagement or safeguarding systems will be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling confidential and sensitive complaints/cases using a survivor-centred and do-no-harm approach.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of Safeguarding, PSEAH, AAP and Complaint, Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM).

  • Good communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to conduct awareness and orientation sessions effectively.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong documentation, reporting and follow-up skills.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Google Workspace and relevant digital tools.

  • Good command of Bangla and English, both written and spoken.

  • Ability to work effectively with field teams, communities, programme staff and other stakeholders.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to project and field locations as required.

Responsibilities & Context:

Location of Posting: Head Office, Chattogram, with regular visits to project and field locations as required

Reporting: The Officer – Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement will report to the Manager – Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement and will work under the overall guidance and direction of the Head of HRD.

Objective of the Position: The Officer – Safeguarding, Accountability & Employee Engagement will support the implementation, monitoring and strengthening of organizational systems and activities related to Safeguarding, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment (PSEAH), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Complaint, Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM), and Employee Engagement & Wellbeing.

The Officer will work closely with the Manager and relevant departments, programmes and field teams to promote awareness, compliance, reporting, feedback, participation and a safe, respectful and accountable organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding & PSEAH

  • Support implementation of PROTTYASHI's Safeguarding, PSEAH and relevant Code of Conduct policies and procedures.

  • Assist in conducting safeguarding and PSEAH awareness sessions, orientations and refresher activities for staff, volunteers, partners and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Support safeguarding and PSEAH risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities at programme, project and field levels.

  • Conduct or support monitoring visits to assess compliance with safeguarding and PSEAH requirements.

  • Support the dissemination and availability of safeguarding and PSEAH reporting information and referral pathways.

  • Receive and appropriately refer safeguarding and PSEAH concerns in accordance with approved organizational procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and records relating to safeguarding and PSEAH activities.

  • Immediately escalate sensitive or high-risk concerns to the Manager through the prescribed reporting mechanism.

Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)

  • Support implementation of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) commitments across relevant programmes and projects.

  • Assist programme teams in integrating participation, information sharing, feedback and accountability approaches into programme activities.

  • Support community engagement initiatives and promote meaningful participation of affected populations.

  • Monitor the accessibility and effectiveness of accountability mechanisms at project and field levels.

  • Collect and compile relevant accountability information for analysis and reporting.

  • Identify recurring concerns, gaps and emerging issues and report them to the Manager.

Complaint, Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM)

  • Support the implementation and day-to-day functioning of the Complaint, Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM).

  • Facilitate accessible channels for receiving complaints, feedback, suggestions and concerns from programme participants, communities and other stakeholders.

  • Properly record, categorize, refer and track complaints and feedback in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Follow up with relevant departments and programme teams regarding the status of referred complaints and feedback.

  • Support timely and appropriate response and feedback closure in accordance with established procedures.

  • Maintain updated CFRM registers, databases and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.

  • Prepare periodic CFRM summaries and reports for review by the Manager.

  • Promptly refer sensitive complaints, including safeguarding and PSEAH-related concerns, through the appropriate confidential mechanism.

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing

  • Support implementation of employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives across the organization.

  • Assist in conducting employee engagement surveys, consultations and feedback activities.

  • Support staff recognition, communication, team-building and organizational culture initiatives.

  • Facilitate appropriate channels for employees to share suggestions, concerns and feedback.

  • Assist in identifying issues affecting employee morale, engagement and workplace culture and report findings to the Manager.

  • Support awareness and initiatives promoting a respectful, inclusive, safe and positive work environment.

  • Maintain relevant records and reports of employee engagement activities and outcomes.

Awareness, Communication & Capacity Building

  • Support development and dissemination of awareness materials on safeguarding, PSEAH, AAP, CFRM, Code of Conduct and employee engagement.

  • Assist in organizing orientations, workshops, campaigns, meetings and awareness events.

  • Support induction and refresher sessions for employees, volunteers, interns and relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist in developing posters, IEC materials, digital communications and other awareness resources.

  • Coordinate with the Learning & Development function for relevant training and awareness activities.

Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting

  • Conduct regular monitoring of relevant activities and provide field-level support as assigned.

  • Maintain appropriate records, registers, databases and documentation for Unit activities.

  • Assist in preparing periodic reports, updates, dashboards and data summaries.

  • Support collection and analysis of data related to safeguarding, PSEAH, AAP, CFRM and employee engagement.

  • Assist in identifying trends, gaps, lessons learned and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure all sensitive information is managed securely and confidentially.

Coordination & Team Support

  • Coordinate with programme/project teams, HR, Learning & Development, field offices and other relevant departments on assigned activities.

  • Support safeguarding/PSEAH focal persons and other designated personnel in carrying out their responsibilities.

  • Participate in relevant internal and external meetings, workshops and coordination events as assigned.

  • Provide operational support to the Manager in implementation of the Unit's annual workplan and priorities.

  • Maintain professional communication and coordination with communities, employees, partners and other stakeholders.

Additional Responsibility

  • The responsibilities outlined above are indicative and not exhaustive. The position holder may be required to undertake additional responsibilities and perform other relevant tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor/Head of HRD from time to time, in line with the organization's objectives, policies and operational requirements.



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary and Benefits: BDT 35,000/- per month during the six-month probationary period; BDT 43,820/- gross per month upon successful completion of probation. (Negotiable for highly experienced candidates)
