  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in project/programme management, climate resilience, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, community development or related development programming.

  • Strong analytical, facilitation, communication, report writing and team management skills.

  • Experience in facilitating community groups, People’s Organizations, early warning systems and community-based disaster preparedness mechanisms.

  • Demonstrated experience in climate-resilient agriculture/livelihoods, community-based adaptation, DRR, WASH, GEDSI and stakeholder coordination.

  • Strong skills in project planning, budgeting, team management, report writing, facilitation and coordination with government and community institutions.

  • Working knowledge of MEAL, results-based management and participatory tools; ability to analyze and use project data for adaptive management.

  • Good communication skills in Bangla and English and proficiency in MS Office and common digital reporting tools.

  • Strong commitment to locally led adaptation, inclusion, accountability, safeguarding and working with vulnerable coastal communities.



Responsibilities & Context:

Role of this Position: The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is a leading non-government organization dedicated to fostering a just and caring society since 1973. CCDB is currently seeking a Project Manager for its project, “Integrated Climate-Resilient Livelihood Program for Costal Bangladesh (ICRL-BD)” Project. To provide overall leadership, technical and operational management, coordination, quality assurance and accountability for implementation of the ICRL-BD project, ensuring achievement of outcomes and outputs through locally led adaptation, inclusive governance, climate-resilient livelihood development, anticipatory action, MEAL and effective stakeholder engagement.

Project Summary: The ICRL-BD project will strengthen the resilience and livelihood security of climate affected coastal communities in selected climate-vulnerable villages of Barguna Sadar Upazila. The project addresses climate risks including cyclones, tidal surges, salinity intrusion, flooding, river erosion and sea-level rise through community-driven climate-resilient livelihoods, anticipatory action, inclusive governance and strengthened adaptive capacity. Priority will be given to women, small-scale farmers, fishers, landless households, youth, persons with disabilities and people at risk of displacement.

Job Summary:

  • Lead the overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and adaptive management of the project in accordance with the approved proposal, workplan, budget and CCDB policies.

  • Ensure delivery against the three project outcomes and associated outputs, including resilient livelihoods, disaster preparedness and climate-resilient WASH/DRR, and inclusive climate governance and finance.

  • Guide field staff and community structures to apply Locally Led Adaptation (LLA), Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), safeguarding and accountability principles.

  • Ensure effective implementation of community-based early warning, anticipatory action, climate-resilient WASH and DRR interventions, and strengthen community participation in local adaptation planning and climate finance processes.

  • Maintain effective coordination with Union Parishad, local government institutions, service providers, community organizations, People’s Organizations and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure timely documentation, reporting, learning and evidence generation, including sex-, age- and disability-disaggregated results.

Responsibilities of the Position :

  • Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling and procurement in line with the approved project design.

  • Translate project outcomes, outputs and indicators into field-level plans, targets and staff responsibilities.

  • Coordinate and supervise overall project implementation to ensure quality, timeliness and achievement of results.

  • Monitor progress, budget utilization, risks and implementation gaps, ensuring timely corrective and adaptive actions.

  • Ensure effective coordination among project staff, communities, partners and relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, CCDB policies, safeguarding and quality standards.

  • Oversee monitoring, documentation, reporting and learning to support evidence-based project management.

  • Represent the project in coordination meetings, stakeholder forums and relevant events.

  • Provide technical and managerial guidance to project staff and support their capacity development.

  • Ensure accountability, transparency and effective use of project resources.
