Experience:
• MBBS
• FCPS / MS / DGO in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• BMDC Registration (Valid)
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience after post-graduation.
• Experience in maternity hospitals or secondary-level healthcare facilities will be preferred.

Job Summary
The Consultant (Gynecology & Obstetrics) will provide comprehensive clinical services in Obstetrics and Gynecology, ensuring safe maternal healthcare, quality gynecological treatment, and emergency surgical management.
The consultant will independently manage outpatient, inpatient, emergency, labor room, operation theatre and follow-up services while maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Special emphasis will be given to expanding gynecological services through regular elective and emergency gynecological surgeries.

Key Responsibilities
A. Obstetrics Services
The consultant shall independently manage:
• ANC (Antenatal Care)
• PNC (Postnatal Care)
• High-risk pregnancy management
• Normal Vaginal Delivery (NVD)
• Assisted vaginal delivery
• Emergency obstetric care
• Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LUCS)
• Ectopic pregnancy management
• Incomplete abortion management
• Medical termination where indicated
• PPH management
• Eclampsia and severe pre-eclampsia management
• Obstetric emergencies
• Referral decision making
B. Expanded Gynecology Services
The consultant is expected to actively perform and expand gynecological services including:
Minor Procedures
• D&C
• D&E
• Polypectomy
• Bartholin cyst surgery
• Cervical cauterization
• IUCD insertion & removal
Major Gynecological Surgery
• Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH)
• Vaginal Hysterectomy
• Oophorectomy
• Salpingectomy
• Ovarian cystectomy
• Myomectomy
• Management of fibroids
• Management of ovarian tumors
• Pelvic inflammatory disease surgery
• Diagnostic & operative laparoscopy (where facilities exist)
• Colposcopy (if available)

Provide immediate management for:

E. Operation Theatre Responsibilities
• Perform scheduled elective surgeries
• Attend emergency OT whenever required
• Ensure pre-operative assessment
• Ensure informed consent
• Post-operative monitoring
• Maintain OT documentation

Provide clinical guidance and on-the-job mentoring whenever necessary.
I. Academic & Capacity Building
• Participate in CME
• Conduct case discussions
• Train junior doctors
• Train nurses and midwives
• Participate in mortality & morbidity review meetings
Performance Expectations (KPIs)
The consultant will be expected to:
• Maintain regular OPD services.
• Ensure timely inpatient rounds.
• Conduct scheduled elective gynecological surgeries.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies.
• Increase the number of expanded gynecological procedures performed at the hospital.
• Maintain high patient satisfaction.
• Ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.
