Responsibilities & Context:
Key Responsibilities:
Understand core cybersecurity concepts — CIA Triad, attack vectors, encryption, firewalls, and endpoint security.
Monitor and analyze security events using tools like Wazuh, Splunk, or ManageEngine.
Assist in incident analysis, alert correlation, and identifying suspicious network activity.
Support vulnerability scanning with tools such as Nmap, Burp Suite, Nikto, Metasploit, and OpenVAS.
Help maintain incident reports, event logs, and security dashboards.
Learn and assist with IDS/IPS, firewall, and VPN configurations.
Monitor and document phishing, malware, or intrusion attempts and apply preventive measures.
Participate in SOC processes — alert triage, escalation, and incident management.
Gain exposure to ethical hacking stages — reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation, and reporting.
