Responsibilities & Context:
Key Responsibilities:
Understand OSI & TCP/IP models and data flow across layers.
Assist in configuring routers, switches, VLANs, DHCP, ACLs, NAT, and related technologies.
Configure and verify VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, and trunk ports in lab environments.
Support Layer 2 features — EtherChannel, port security, BPDU guard.
Assign and troubleshoot IP addresses, subnetting, and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP).
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues using ping, traceroute, and Wireshark.
Document network topology, IP schema, and cabling using Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, or EVE-NG.
Assist in device hardening (SSH, password security) and access point management.
Monitor network performance, interface utilization, and perform basic log analysis.
