• Assist in the evaluation, development, and implementation of the staff health policy for LRS and CBTM.
• Actively participate in the evaluation and selection of validated hospitals for LRS and CBTM colleagues and their dependents, including the assessment of new healthcare facilities.
• Establish and oversee a system for accessible and reliable pre-departure medical checks for detachment staff in coordination with MedCo Support.
• Arrange for the replenishment of medicines in first aid boxes located at various locations.
• Facilitate the disposal of staff health documents in accordance with SOPs, in collaboration with the WatSan team.
• Conduct briefings with all managers, particularly the HR and Finance Managers, as well as newly recruited staff.
• Responsible for promoting health and providing health education on vaccination for MSF OCA staff, while supporting the Medical Coordination team in monitoring the vaccination status of all OCA staff to ensure compliance with the staff health policy.
• Regularly organize first-aid training sessions for staff and provide guidance on updating training modules.
• Gather accurate and reliable data on illnesses, accidents, and absenteeism to generate statistics on medical risks and health concerns affecting all MSF staff. Collaborate with HRMs and the HRCo to contribute to initiatives related to ergonomics and occupational health.
• Arrange initial briefings, refresher sessions, and regular Hepatitis C screenings for staff.
• Develop plans and allocate budgets for the celebration of international days, such as Mental Health Day and Suicide Prevention Day etc.
• Carry out surveys on physical and mental health and provide actionable recommendations based on the findings.
• Collaborate with the PSU to conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) for the development of an LRS health monitoring tool and its implementation plan.
• Coordinate with staff health representatives of other OC’s to harmonize LRS and CBTM healthcare policies nationwide and serve as the focal point for IST staff health monthly meeting.
• Facilitate CBTM referrals (& their dependents) to hospitals (CXB, Ctg) via the established referral pathway.
• Coordinate annual TB screenings, health check-ups for drivers, AEB sessions, vaccination campaign and related health initiatives across the country program.
• Provide support in managing specific cases by offering direct technical medical input or consulting medical coordination for advice.
• Assist in the collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of all activities related to staff health to ensure accurate tracking and informed decision-making.
• Collaborate in budget forecasting for Staff Health (LRS & CBTM), including preventive measures such as vaccines, mosquito nets, repellent sprays, PPE, training, sanitary pads, etc., while maintaining communication with the Line Manager.
• Conduct regular project visits to gather staff feedback, supervise SHU MDs and Staff Psychologists, update their JDs, evaluate team members, serve as the focal point for communication and representation in meetings, act as the Staff Health Unit MD when required, and provide support while addressing challenges faced by SHU MDs or Staff Psychologists.
• Serve as the staff health responsible for LRS (CXB Coordination, OCA) and CBTM colleagues (BKL & KTP).
• Collaborate with the team and the Deputy/Medical Coordinator to approve and justify sick leave confirmations for LRS and CBTM. Ensure accurate documentation and follow-up for staff impacted by work-related injuries or disability benefits. Actively engage in the continuity of care for redundant staff.
• Monitor the proper implementation of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) in accordance with MSF recommended guidelines.
• Coordinate and follow up on the daily work plan of the team while working closely with staff psychologists to implement the staff mental health strategy. Additionally, organize monthly meetings with staff psychologists and SHU MDs, ensuring effective group supervision and peer supervision.
• Take necessary steps upon receiving confidential information about staff from psychologists, especially in critical cases, and collaborate with Safeguarding. Facilitate referrals to external facilities for staff requiring clinical intervention in collaboration with the staff psychologist.
• Arrange training sessions on stress management, workplace well-being, and related topics in collaboration with staff psychologists.
• Coordinate stool tests for cooks and cook aides, ensure the administration of Albendazole, and oversee deep cleaning of the kitchen every three months across the CP.
• Monitor that the relevant departments (e.g., WatSan team, cleaners, cooks) are consistently maintaining and using proper PPE during their daily activities.
• Disseminate awareness messages on outbreaks during morning meetings, ensure contact posters are updated and distributed across the CP, and formulate SOPs on matters relevant to staff health.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager or dictated by operational requirements.
This is a Temporary Position for 6 months. Salary according to level Ten (Level 10) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 161,000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
