∎ Ding are looking for a SQLServer Ops Engineer to join our dedicated Data Engineering team with responsibility for
∎ looking after the day to day operations of our SQL Server data warehouse. You will look after the ETLs that load data
∎ from our OLTP systems, as well as from external 3rd party integrations, into our SQL Server data warehouse, and OLAP
∎ cube. You will also be responsible for administering our Reporting Services instances, including configuring new
∎ subscriptions for delivery of reports etc. You will work closely with our DBA team to ensure that the databases are
∎ tuned and well maintained. You will also work with various business stake holders to help them resolve any issues
∎ that arise with the data. You will also have the opportunity to carry out ongoing upgrades to the overall stack, including
∎ database stored procedures, ETLs and SSRS reports.
∎ Over time there will also be an opportunity to work on our new Data Warehouse environment which is being built in
∎ Google Cloud / BigQuery.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitoring of ETL jobs to ensure all necessary data is available to business users
∎ Escalate with internal/external partners when issues arise with source data.
∎ Provide Level 1 support for any issues that arise with data, reports etc.
∎ Day to day configuration of SSRS environment, including creating / updating report subscriptions for business
∎ partners.
∎ Be engaged in an open and collaborative environment.
∎ Have a proactive mindset - to not be afraid to ask questions
∎ To be adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 2-3 years' experience in a hands-on role working with SQLServer stack.
∎ Fully experienced in all parts of Microsoft BI stack - SQLServer, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
∎ Experience operating independently, and ability to manage time appropriately
∎ Strong attention to details
∎ Comfortable with multi-tasking across different products and parts of BI stack.
∎ Exposure to / interest to learn BigQuery / GCP/Looker.
∎ Experience working in an Agile/Lean environment
