∎ JOB PURPOSE: To carry out evidence based advocacy and advocacy events in partnership with DPHE, NGOs and private sectors to promote replication of climate adaptive water interventions for safe drinking water in Mongla.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organize advocacy events with government, non-government organizations and engaging private sectors
∎ Contribute in the strategic planning and design
∎ Contribute in the design and guide in developing a communication strategy to Climate Change initiatives by BRAC and others as relevant
∎ Contribute in knowledge products development with coordination with knowledge management specialist
∎ Explore options and contribute in dissemination of implementing actions to promote climate resilient solutions under the Programme
∎ Coordinate and organise technical events, meetings, dialogues for strategic positioning and better visibility of BRAC in Climate Change discourse
∎ Prepare and disseminate newsletter on global, national and project related news on climate change and other important issues
∎ Liaising with national, international, government and private sector entities to represent BRAC at the national and international levels, and to build network and partnerships
Additional Requirements:
∎ Planning and coordinating assigned tasks
∎ Conversant in analytical writing for a development/non-profit organisation, on economic and social issues, change communications, public affairs or other related field within the international development sectors
∎ Demonstrable experience of communication mastery, from concepts to campaigns
∎ Sound knowledge and working experience of different communication tools and platforms
∎ Up to date knowledge on Climate Change issues
∎ Excellent computer and relevant technical skills on communication and advocacy material development (including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop etc.)
∎ Fluency in English and Bengali, with excellent public speaking skills and a passion for writing and content development
∎ In-depth empirical and analytical understanding on key development issues in the context of urban and rural Bangladesh
∎ Excellent team player with necessary analytical, organisational and project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills, able to work with minimal direction, pro-active, flexible and highly creative
∎ Demonstrable experience of publishing high quality posts, blogs, and reports
∎ Capability to strategies, coordinate and lead to accomplishment
∎ Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field
