Your responsibilities will include:

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain web and mobile applications that leverage geospatial data to solve specific business and user needs.

• Data Management: Manage and maintain data sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility within applications.

• User Experience: Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that optimize the user experience.

• Performance Optimization: Optimize application performance for large datasets and ensure that applications are responsive and scalable.

• Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing, troubleshoot, and debug issues, and ensure the reliability and security of applications.

• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and application architecture.

• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and apply critical thinking and analysis to help users overcome challenges.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and geospatial analysts, to deliver comprehensive solutions.

About You

Reporting to the Senior Services Manager, you will offer a minimum five-year working in technology-based business such as software or IT Enabled Services. You demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages, deep understanding of software development principles, and experience with various development tools and methodologies. You are passionate about software development and eager to make an impact.

To be successful in this role you will also bring: 

• Build highly complex user interface applications and back-end database integration using expert-level skills in various web development tools, programming languages, and scripting languages.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.

• Familiar with various designs and architectural patterns.

• Skill for writing reusable libraries, microservices, components and APIs.

• Knowledge of concurrency patterns, security standards and data protection measures.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment with Devops knowledge.

• Experience with web mapping libraries and frameworks, such as Leaflet, Mapbox, or OpenLayers, will be a plus.

• Previous experience in Geo-application development is desirable, but the appetite to learn is essential.

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science and engineering or a relevant field of study
