Software & AI Application Engineer – VisionX AI Project

The Software & AI Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development, deployment, testing, training, and maintenance of the VisionX AI platform. The role will focus on web application development, image annotation tools, IoT data integration, backend support, and user support for factory-level implementation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Web Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web interfaces using React.js.

• Ensure the application is user-friendly, fast, and easy for factory QC teams to use.

• Build interfaces capable of handling and displaying high-resolution garment images efficiently.

• Improve UI/UX based on user feedback from factory operators, QC teams, and project supervisors.

2. Backend Support & Scripting

• Use Python to support backend functions and automation tasks.

• Write scripts for image processing, data handling, and system support.

• Manage data flow from IoT devices to the web application.

• Support API integration between frontend, backend, and AI modules.

3. Image Annotation & Defect Tagging

• Develop tools for image annotation, defect marking, tagging, and categorization.

• Support features that allow users to highlight defect areas on garment images.

• Ensure annotation data is properly saved, organized, and available for AI model training.

• Work with the technical team to improve defect classification and data accuracy.

4. IoT Data Integration

• Work closely with the hardware and deployment team to receive images from IoT/camera devices.

• Ensure smooth image streaming, low latency, and data accuracy.

• Support integration between camera devices, local systems, and cloud/backend services.

• Identify and report any data flow, image quality, or device connectivity issues.

5. System Testing & Troubleshooting

• Test software features before and during factory deployment.

• Troubleshoot bugs, errors, image loading issues, annotation issues, and system performance problems.

• Debug and improve existing software for better reliability and speed.

• Coordinate with the Bamboo Innovations technical team when advanced support is required.

6. User Training & Documentation

• Conduct training sessions for QC operators, supervisors, and factory users.

• Prepare simple user manuals, training notes, and technical documentation.

• Explain how to use the image processing, annotation, and defect reporting tools.

• Collect feedback from users and suggest improvements to the system.

7. Deployment Support

• Support the installation engineer and site team during factory deployment.

• Assist in system setup, software configuration, camera testing, and user login setup.

• Monitor live factory use and report technical issues to the project supervisor.

• Support pilot project performance evaluation with software and system data.

8. Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain and upgrade the software system as required.

• Improve system performance, security, and user experience.

• Keep proper records of software updates, issue logs, support tickets, and fixes.

• Support future product development based on factory feedback and project needs.

Experience

·         Placement will be at the site.

·         Minimum 1or 2 years of professional experience in software engineering, web development, or related technical work.

·         Experience in AI, image processing, IoT, automation, or factory technology projects will be preferred.

Frontend Skills

• Strong knowledge of React.js and JavaScript ES6+.

• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.

• Ability to build clean, simple, and user-friendly interfaces.

Backend & Python Skills

• Working knowledge of Python.

• Experience with image processing libraries such as OpenCV or PIL/Pillow will be an advantage.

• Understanding of backend logic, data handling, and scripting.

API & Integration Knowledge

• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs.

• Ability to connect frontend applications with backend services.

• Knowledge of data flow between hardware, backend, and web application.

Technical Aptitude

• Understanding of image handling, camera data, and high-resolution file processing.

• Basic troubleshooting ability for software, network, and data connection issues.

• Willingness to work with factory teams and deployment engineers.

Communication Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to train users and write simple technical documentation.

• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical factory users.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of AI/ML model workflow

• Experience with annotation tools or computer vision projects

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub

• Basic database knowledge such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB

• Experience with cloud platforms or server deployment will be an advantage

• Understanding of garment QC or factory production process will be preferred

Reporting Toengineer

The Software & AI Application Engineer will report to the Project Supervisor / Senior Project Engineer / Management and coordinate with the Bamboo Innovations Technical Team when required.
