• Strong knowledge of HFO power plant operations, processes and equipment.

• Experience in a Shift In-charge or Asst. Shift In-charge role is mandatory.

The Shift In-charge (SIC) is responsible for the overall safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the power plant during their designated shift. The SIC acts as the lead authority on the floor, managing the operation team, coordinating with the National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC/BPDB), and ensuring all HFO treatment and generation parameters are within limits. Will ensure smooth delivery of power and safety of equipment and machinery.

Plant Operations & Generation

• Lead the shift team to ensure continuous power generation according to the demand schedule.

• Monitor and control HFO Engines, Turbochargers, and Alternators via SCADA/HMI systems.

• Oversee the operation of Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, including HFO Separators/Purifiers, Lube Oil systems, Cooling Water systems, and Compressors.

• Manage Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB) and steam distribution systems.

• Coordinate with the Grid/Substation for synchronization, load management, and shut-down procedures.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults during operation and perform immediate troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

• Coordinate with the maintenance department for breakdown maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance (PM).

• Raise Job Orders/Work Requests in the ERP/CMMS system.

Safety & Compliance

• Strictly enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols.

• Manage the Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) systems during the shift.

• Ensure the fuel treatment process meets the required viscosity and temperature standards to prevent engine damage.

• Maintain the Shift Logbook, generation reports, and fuel consumption records accurately.

Leadership

• Will show and demonstrate to his team.

• Ability to organize, manage and good knowledge on subject matter.
