Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carrying out the responsibilities in absence of the Shift In-Charge and leading the subordinates during the shift operation of the plant.
∎ Taking necessary action to keep the engines running as per set procedures while providing required auxiliary equipment leading to smooth Shift Engineer running of the Plant.
∎ Operating and ‘Root Cause Finding’ of various troubles of LO (lube oil) and HFO purifier.
∎ Operating HRSG (heat recovery steam generator), OFB (oil faired boiler), WTP (water treatment plant) and RO (reverse osmosis) of the plant.
∎ Checking from time to time WTP reports and assist the people at operating section to control the water quality.
∎ Cleaning time to time the Turbocharger both of Compressor and Turbine side.
∎ Supervising from time to time the Air Compressor, Lube Oil Cooler, Jacket Water Cooler, Charge Air cooler, Cooling Tower, Auto Filter, Duplex filter, Cylinder Head and Fuel Pump.
∎ Recording engine peak pressure as per procedure and supervising the Switch Gear Room and Power Transformer’
∎ Maintaining the operating condition of HFO Storage tank, Settling tank and Service tank.
∎ Monitoring and recording all the data or parameters of all the systems related to Engines & Auxiliaries while keeping eyes on any abnormalities of the equipment occurred and, if so, then take immediate action to fix up the abnormalities.
∎ Checking time to time all the important parameters of engines & auxiliaries and carrying out engine data analysis and reporting the same to Shift In-charge
∎ Maintain all the parameter within normal range of all the fluids by checking these parameters under operation and at ‘stand-by position’ of the plant.
∎ Preparing ‘Generation Report’, ‘Reconciliation of Hourly Load Demand Report’ and ‘NLDC Demand Report’, ‘Daily fuel Consumption Report’, ‘Power (Load) dispatch or Plant factor Report’ and submitting these Reports to the Plant In-Charge through the Manager Operation.
∎ Close supervision and monitoring of Water Treatment Plant (RO & Ion-Exchange) to maintain the recommended value for TDS (total dissolved solids), PH (potential hydrogen) and Hardness so that no abnormality does arise in the ‘water operating systems’. In case any abnormality (abnormal value) is found, to inform the Chemist and Operation Manager.
∎ Troubleshooting of any electrical and/or mechanical fault in the plant during shift operation and rectification of the fault or assisting the ‘Electrical/Mechanical maintenance team’ for rectification of the same.
∎ Doing any other job as instructed by the Shift In-charge.
