Job Context:
As the Senior Tailoring & Pattern Master your mission is to transform complex design concepts into perfect, production-ready garments. By balancing traditional tailoring craftsmanship with modern speed, you ensure that every sample meets international fit standards.
Job Responsibilities
1. Technical Pattern Development
Drafting & Accuracy: Draft, design, and finalize garment patterns based on client measurements, designer sketches, or technical specifications. Ensure accuracy in fit, proportion, and style across all garments.
Design Alignment: Ensure pattern Spec does correspond with design.
Anatomical Knowledge: Have good understanding of key area of body shape (Menswear, Womenswear, and Childrenswear) and prepare any kinds of spec within short time.
Workflow Integration: Possess clear idea about sewing method which will not conflict while creating pattern.
2. Fittings, Adjustments & Grading
Silhouette Mastery: Lead fitting sessions with clients or models, making precise alterations to achieve the desired silhouette. Adapt patterns to different body types while maintaining design integrity.
Regional Grading: Be capable to grade the pattern from the base size and also have understanding of the appropriate grading rules on various region.
Production Advocacy: Act as a bridge between design and production; provide expert pushback and solutions when design elements compromise production feasibility or fit quality
3. Construction & Quality Control
Fabric Analysis: Assess fabric behavior (stretch, drape, shrinkage) and adjust patterns accordingly.
Technical Consulting: Provide technical input on garment construction methods to optimize quality and durability.
Standardization: Oversee cutting and tailoring processes to ensure patterns are executed correctly. Maintain consistency in sizing, finishing, and craftsmanship standards.
4. Leadership & Operational Innovation
Mentorship: Supervise and train junior pattern makers and tailors. Share advanced techniques and best practices to elevate team performance.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with designers, production managers, and clients to translate creative concepts into wearable garments. Communicate effectively across departments to meet deadlines and maintain brand standards.
Modernization: Introduce modern tools such as CAD pattern-making software while preserving traditional tailoring excellence.
Efficiency: Streamline processes to reduce waste and improve productivity without compromising quality.
