Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Senior Specialist - MHPSS oversees Save the Children's integrated MHPSS (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) program with staff, partner staff, and all other programmatic activities across Child Protection, Nutrition, Health, and Education teams.
∎ This senior-level position will be responsible for leading, organizing, advocating, and ensuring the mainstreaming of the MHPSS components including situational assessment, developing strategy, operational plans, and ethical consideration, building the capacity of SCI Bangladesh Country office, liaison with national and international professionals with MHPSS approaches, monitoring and measuring the impact at organizational, related actors and program level.
∎ S/he is directly responsible for the technical quality of the work done by MHPSS Managers, Coordinators, Officers, and Community Mental Health Workers (CMHW) across different programs.
∎ Other responsibilities of this role include providing training, supervision, and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) on MHPSS, as well as maintaining close liaison with managers in other teams for program design, integrated budget, HR, logistic, admin, and MEAL management.
∎ The incumbent also engages with a network of external MHPSS actors for referrals, updates on MHPSS status and information sharing, and represents Save the Children in internal and external working groups and forums in coordination and collaboration with SCiB Health, Nutrition, and HIV Director, and MHPSS Backstop.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 7 years' progressive career track record in MHPSS support and service management including at least 3 years in a managerial position(s), preferably in the development/ humanitarian sector
∎ Experience in managing program development and enactment in respect to community based psychosocial support and community awareness raising and implementing psychosocial support within child protection, health, and nutrition focused humanitarian interventions
∎ Experience in capacity building and training facilitation and working with refugees, internally displaced people, and returnees
∎ Comprehensive knowledge of child rights and child protection issues in Bangladesh and capacity to analyze Human Rights and Child Rights situation at the global, national, and local levels
∎ Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; can manage and work as part of a team
∎ Expertise of MS Office Suite, internet, and relevant computing technologies
∎ Enthusiasm, motivation, self-confidence, and a proactive approach to problem solving
∎ First-rate skills in planning and organizing, analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making
∎ Outstanding networking and coordination skills, including representing MHPSS SCI in coordination meetings in emergency contexts
∎ Demonstrable ability to prepare high compliance donor reports, and other documents
