Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF’s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. Projahnmo Research Foundation is Implementing an “Implementation Research to Scale-up and Evaluate the Impact of Antenatal Corticosteroids (ACS) on Preterm Newborn Outcomes’’. The objective of study is to understand the challenges and opportunities in implementing the specific WHO criteria for ACS use, develop effective programmatic solutions, and apply them in LMIC contexts to achieve high coverage of safe ACS use in the context of improved childbirth and newborn care. This multi-country implementation research study is a mixed-methods design, including both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Study Physician for ACS-IR study.

Job Description / Responsibility:
Major Responsibilities
The Study Physician is primarily responsible for the implementation of ACS-IR studies at the study districts. However, s/he will contribute to other study activities and also support the national level team for the administrative and management issues of the organization.
1. Effective planning and implementation of project activities in assigned areas:
Plan and supervise mapping and assessment of all public and private health facilities within the proposed catchment area in the study district to regular update of targeted facilities.
Coordinate and supervise data collection from all public and private health facilities within the catchment area as per the work plan.
Assist in developing an implementation plan, data collection activities, and quality assurance plan.
Observe data collection activities and provide on-the-job coaching to the data collectors, and implementation teams where needed.
Travel to upazilas as required
2. Monitoring, supervision, and reporting:
Supervise daily activities of data collectors and check for credibility and trustworthiness of collected data.
Review data and dashboard/tables/graph and provide feedback to hospital team and report to supervisor
Critically review data, identify gaps and potential solutions, train the district team based on findings
Organize, facilitate, and conduct periodic team meetings and training at the local level.
Collate data and prepare progress reports (weekly/fortnightly/monthly), as required.
Response to the data related queries of the study
3. Coordination and liaise:
Regularly coordinate with relevant sections of DGHS, DGFP, Professional organizations, academia, and other stakeholders for study purposes of the assigned district.
Maintain liaison with district hospital authority and relevant personnel (OBGYN/Pediatricians/Neonatologist), civil surgeon’s office, DDFP office, and other NGO and private stakeholders.
Participate in different relevant meetings at the district level.
Participate in study-related online meetings
Facilitate and arrange MOHFW and donor’s field visit
4. Administrative, financial, and other responsibilities:
Ensure proper documentation, and archiving records.
Ensure proper and optimum use of project logistics, including data forms, tab, laptop/desktop computer, etc.
Assist in reviewing and managing expenses and supporting documents
Medicine, commodity and logistics management required for the study
5. Any other activities assigned by supervisor/organization in relation to study/organization
Job Nature: Fixed term
Initial appointment may be extended for a further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds
Salary and benefits: 82,804/- per month including house rent, conveyance allowance, retirement fund and other admissible benefits.
