Education:
    • Master of Social Science (MSS)

Master’s degree in relevant area (Statistics, Social Sciences, and Economics) from a recognized university, but MPH will be preferred.

Candidates should have minimum 10 to 15 years’ program management (Health program such as MNCH, SRH & Nutrition) experience in NGO/INGO.

Experience in managing projects related to maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), family planning or health systems strengthening and should have strong strategic planning and adaptive management skills, with the ability to diagnose and integrate development components into project design.

A valid motorcycle driving license is required.

Responsibilities & Context:

LAMB is a well-run major mission Hospital, Community Health Development, Training and Research organization. Services cover more than 6.3 million people in North West Bangladesh.

There is a vacancy for the following contractual positions at the LAMB under Community Health and Development Program (CHDP) for the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) Project based in Nilphamari District.

Job Summary:Responsible for improving MNCH-N outcomes by strengthening the existing Health System. The District Coordinator will work closely with the District level, sub-district level, and union level managers of MOH&FW to strengthen the health service delivery, service utilization, and service continuity during outbreaks and emergencies, community referral, data driven decision making for that district. The District Coordinator will ensure timely implementation of approved work plan, ensure quality of services, and will monitor progress by supporting MOH&FW health workers and managers. S/he will also document program lessons and prepare program progress reports as per monitoring and reporting plan laid out for the project. The position will be based in targeted districts. S/He will spend at least 70% of time supporting field implementation at District and Upazila level. The Project Coordinator will also mobilize support to formal and informal private sector and non-governmental organizations to support integrated MNCH-N services.

Program Implementation

  • Work with union, upazila and district level facilities of DGHS and DGFP, Union Parishad and other relevant departments and stakeholders to implement Project activities.

  • Work closely with MOHFW health workers and managers to ensure Management and implementation of field level RHIS activities.

  • Ensure timely implementation of all activities outlined in the approved district work plan and ensure progress.

  • Provide monitoring and supervision support to GOB health workers.

 Training , capacity building and events management

  • Identify training needs for on the job and refresher trainings and arrange such trainings for MNCH-N

  • Facilitate management and follow-up of capacity building and training events

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to promote and support data-driven decision-making to facility level managers

 Coordination

  • Facilitate multi-sectorial coordination at District and upazila level (with key relevant sectors)

  • Participate in Monthly coordination meeting at District and Upazila level and ensure participation at  union parishad meeting

  • Coordinate with management for timely implementation of activities.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders for smooth operations

  • Document lessons learned and best practices and provide feedback and dissemination in relevant coordination and review meetings

 System Strengthening

  • Ensure quality data is generated and uploaded at all level and trouble shooting of the system takes place.

  • Organizing training for GO, NGO staffs and service providers working at community level as well as facility level

  • On the job training and supportive supervision for supervisor and ensure coaching and motivation through supervisory visit and feedback.

  • Supply of guidelines, tools and roll out the activities at community and facility level.

  • Facilitate that all field findings are recorded; feedbacks prepared and shared accordingly, ensured execution of feedback/action items doing follow up visits.

  • Facilitation of appropriate recording and documentation of activities performed by health workers or providers at all level.

  • Cultivate and find out gaps and develop feasible mechanism for improvement and introduce in system related to recording and report and MIS system.

 Monitoring 

  • Monitor the activities and ensure smooth operations

  • Strengthen the capacity of supervisors and mentors workers and organise joint visits.

  • Monitor the planned activity of the implementing partners.

  • Track progress against project indicators and address bottlenecks through regular follow-up

 Representation, Communication & Reporting:

  • Coordinate development of team action plans/ Work pan.

  • Attend meetings of GoB (Health & FP).

  • Arrange visit for internal and external visitors.

  • Prepare Programmatic reports and ensure its timely onward transmission.

  • Advocacy with local stakeholders.

  • Ensure the MIS report and documentation supported with valid source.

 Administration and Finance:

  • Ensure the logistic support by communicating through proper channel.

  • Ensure that all expenditure incurred in accordance with budget line and budget limit.

 Beyond this, Integration of spiritual, emotional & social health

  • Ensure spiritual concepts & holistic approach in communication, service delivery, administration and resolution of conflicts

  • Comply with LAMB policies and practices with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant policies and organizational values.

  • Other responsibilities assigned by the line manager or organizational management.

  • Any other duties assigned by Director, CHDP.



Job Other Benifits:

    Tk. 73,205 per month gross salary, inclusive all benefits. Other benefits include provident fund, festival allowance once per year, and critical illness and death benefit.
