Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience with proven skills in human rights, climate change and resilience.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in program planning, budgeting, financial management, and staff management, along with experience in monitoring and evaluation.
A strong understanding of human rights, climate induced human rights violation, climate change, environmental degradation and gender is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bengali are required.
Applicants must possess computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications.
Experience in collaborating with local administration and national networks, as well as having a motorbike driving license, is a must. T
he candidate should be willing to visit remote areas in Assasuni/Shahnagar/ Koyra/ Paikgacha Upazilas.
Knowledge in safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender, & Anti-Sexual Harassment) and conflict transformation is also necessary.
The Project Coordinator has to maintain close relation and coordination with other senior staff members of BARCIK as well as lead NETZ.

Job Context: Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) is a non-governmental, non-profit development organization. Founded in 1997 by a group of development practitioners, researchers, and social workers, BARCIK has been dedicated to advancing environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, resilience, and justice and food security since its inception.
BARCIK is currently seeking a qualified candidate for immediate appointment for the position of Project Coordinator for its project titled ‘Environmental Human Rights for a Just Transition: Strengthened Local CSOs Transforming Climate Hotspots into Resilient Communities (ENGAGE). This project is being implemented in Shyamnagar and Assasuni upazilas of Satkhira district and Koyra and Paikgacha upazilas of Khulna district. The position will be based at Paikgasa in Khulna. The project is being implemented in collaboration with NETZ Bangladesh as the lead organization.The Position will be continued up to 31 December 2028.
Job Nature: Full-time (up to the project period based on performance.)
Job Responsibility: Key responsibilities include overseeing program implementation, managing and directing program staff, and designing and conducting training workshops. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for program documentation, reporting and coordinating monthly action plans and team meetings. Other duties include liaising with government and non-government organizations, local advocacy, research activities, workshops and trainings. Additionally, the role involves crisis management and ensuring timely project delivery. Priorities will be given to suitable candidates those who are born and grown up in coastal region and experiences working in EU funded projects.
