Job Context:
∎ Position Title: Senior/ Lead Engineer - Metallurgy
∎ Functional Area: Production, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality Control
∎ Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
∎ Prescribed Experience Range: 5 to 7 Years. However, more experienced person will be more prioritized
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support for Metallurgical testing for various components (Mtube / Round tubes / Billet/MS Rod/Angle/Chanel/Beams etc.) at analyzing data and issuance of reports for routine quality inspections. Tests include chemical composition analysis, tensile testing, hardness testing, coating thickness measurement, microstructural inspection including grain size analysis, surface roughness measurement, burst testing, knowledge on heat treatment of alloys etc.
∎ Developing plans to improve the in-house testing processes - Metallurgy lab development.
∎ Should be able to maintain all testing records, lab records, utilization of testing equipment,
∎ implementing Quality Management System and supporting for lab accreditations etc.
∎ Should be able to support for new material & testing developments and also new production process implementations.
∎ Should be able to benchmark the existing materials and procedures for creating a company-level master database.
∎ Should support during conducting material failure analysis and investigations to find the root cause and rectify the issues.
∎ Should be able to support in commissioning of the new metallurgical testing machines & making the SOP's (System Operating Procedure) for running the machines.
∎ Conducting training programs time-to-time to enhance the skills of the subordinates/technicians.
∎ Effective communicator & team leader with strong analytical, problem solving & learning skills.
∎ Exposure at meeting demands, accomplishing the given tasks within the specified time, assuring top-class quality standards & managing change with minimum impact on the team.
∎ Should be able to guide and advice the Management regarding QC of its products.
