Roles and Responsibilities:
The Senior Executive Engineer at Pristine Pharmaceuticals would typically oversee engineering functions related to the maintenance, operation, and improvement of equipment and systems critical to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Below are the key roles and responsibilities:
Equipment and Machinery Management
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, ensuring that machines run smoothly and without interruption.
Installation and Commissioning: Lead the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment by GMP standards.
Equipment Calibration: Ensure all machinery is calibrated correctly, functioning within specifications, and compliant with relevant guidelines.
Process Optimization and Efficiency
Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the manufacturing process to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
Energy Management: Optimize energy usage for cost reduction and compliance with environmental standards.
Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean principles, where applicable, to minimize waste and improve production workflow.
Project Management
Engineering Projects: Manage engineering projects related to facility upgrades, new technology integration, and process enhancements.
Timelines & Budgets: Ensure engineering projects are completed on time, within scope and budget. Manage resource allocation and coordinate with other departments.
Compliance with Regulatory Standards
GMP Compliance: Ensure all engineering operations adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
Validation Protocols: Lead or assist in validating facilities, systems, and equipment, ensuring that all engineering processes comply with regulatory guidelines.
Audit Preparation & Support: Provide necessary technical documentation and records to support the quality assurance team during internal and external audits.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
Safety Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with local health and safety regulations and company policies. Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents.
Environmental Management: Monitor the environmental impact of engineering operations, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, particularly in areas like waste disposal and emissions.
Team Leadership and Development
Supervision of Engineering Staff: Lead, supervise, and mentor junior engineers and technicians. Ensure that the engineering team is adequately trained and that work is delegated effectively.
Training & Development: Train the team on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols. Encourage the continuous development of engineering skills.
Documentation and Reporting
Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance, calibration, validation, and upgrades in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting: Provide regular reports to management regarding equipment performance, maintenance activities, and process improvements. Based on technical data, offer insights and recommendations.
Vendor Management
Supplier Coordination: Work with vendors to procure, maintain, and repair equipment. Ensure timely delivery and service quality.
Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating service contracts and warranties for equipment and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Collaboration with Production and QC: Work closely with production, quality control (QC), and quality assurance (QA) teams to ensure that the equipment meets the necessary specifications and contributes to producing high-quality pharmaceutical products.
Technical Support: Support the production and quality departments, especially in resolving engineering-related issues affecting product quality or production efficiency.
Innovation and Technology Integration
Technology Upgrades: Stay up-to-date with the latest engineering and manufacturing technologies in the pharmaceutical sector. Identify and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Sustainability Initiatives: Support initiatives to make production more environmentally sustainable through engineering innovations.
