Job Responsibilities:
∎ Managing parts of construction projects. Site visit to refugee camps, site inspection where the projects schemes are located;
∎ Monitor construction works on site as per design-drawing; overseeing site improvement related community scheme implementation work and checking technical designs & drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
∎ Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility;
∎ Undertaking technical surveys, assessment, setting out sites and organizing facilities and supervising site development/improvement community infrastructures implementation work
∎ Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
∎ Preparing site reports and filling in other paper works, survey templates, need base report etc.
∎ Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and negotiating the price of materials. ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to
∎ Site assessment of the area prior construction of SD/DRR physical/hardware schemes e.g. retaining wall, drainage system, roads, natrure based infrastructures, brigde, mini culverts, bioengineering etc to specify availability of materials;
∎ Prepare plans and schedule for all project delivery. Liaise with government authorities, line departments, camp community & host community level, propose alternative solutions for the problems that may arise during all the stages of scheme implementation
∎ Assist Project Manager on SD scheme technical aspect and keep the project scheme within the budget, planning and implementation of the activities.
∎ Assist Project Manager to take appropriate engineering measures to ensure cost effectiveness throughout site development project schemes implementation.
∎ Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan and/schedule based on project priorities. Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules and work plan in the light of the project scope to produce desired results.
∎ Ensure close coordination with the field team and effective implementation as per donor guidance. Foster and maintain good working relationship with team members, camp communities, relevant government authorities and other stakeholder and encourage team member for doing so.
∎ Confirms product/raw materials performance by designing and conducting tests.
∎ Determines project scheme, scheme plan and specifications; BOQ, calculating time requirements
∎ Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes recommending actions.
∎ Provide support in mainstreaming Quality & Accountability into the program and maintaining all the record of project activities and Q & A.
∎ Work with cooperative attitude and keep a high standard of work quality considering priorities
∎ Ensure use and implementation of all those findings and feedbacks that received at the result of any monitoring and/or supervision that help in improving project implementation and effectiveness.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 27 years
∎ 7 years' experience and at least 3 years civil engineering experience in camp context for designing, planning and community infrastructures constructions related engineering activities
∎ Team building capacity
∎ Written and oral communications skills in English and Bengali
∎ Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities
∎ Practicing gender, PSEA, Safeguarding, code of conduct and cultural diversity
∎ Skill to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc.
∎ Able to drive motorcycle and will have valid driving license
Salary: Tk. 80000 - 84000 (Monthly)
