Job Context:
∎ To provide support by maintaining and improving the quality standard during the product development process to ensure customer standards and requirements are met
∎ To strive for Operational Excellence in performing role responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and guide teams of technicians
∎ Monitor the samples assessment (TAC)
∎ Implement fast speed sample TAC
∎ Monitor and organise the workload of technicians
∎ Train technicians and trainees
∎ Responsible for time management within the team order to improve the product quality
∎ Handle sensitive customer issues personally and serve as a consultant in technical issues both externally and internally
∎ Working closely with customer product developer (creative teams) & technician designer to secure design and develop prototypes and patterns using 2D and 3D technology.
∎ Annalize risks during sample development stage to avoid high rejection in production
∎ Advise customer on trends, technical possibilities and challenges.
∎ Work closely with merchandising, QA and vendors to solve technical issues and provide recommendations and corrective actions.
∎ Determine the need for factory visits and arrange professional follow up within the team
∎ Fully understand customer set up, processes & quality requirements and inform team members about updates of customer quality guidelines
∎ Be informed about key performance indexes and hold regular team meetings to keep team members updated on actual situation
Additional Requirements:
∎ 6 years' experience as Technician in garment construction or pattern making
∎ 3 years' minimum experience in team management
∎ University graduate in related discipline
∎ Good knowledge in product design and development, knowing and understanding trends in fashion
∎ Able to translate creative input into a technical file and give active input to create an achievable, realistic styling
∎ Experienced and/or fully trained in 3D technology creating styles and conducting fit evaluations
∎ Excellent technical knowledge in various product groups,
∎ Knowledge of fabrics and materials
∎ Cost conscious and results orientated
∎ Good supervisory and decision making skills
∎ Proficient in MS Office applications
∎ PDM knowledge is a plus
∎ Very good communication skills
∎ Good command of both written and spoken English
