The Project Officer, Market Linkage Supervisor is responsible for establishing and strengthening sustainable market linkages between producers and buyers to ensure a consistent and efficient supply of agricultural products to WFP-supported Fresh Food Corners (FFC) and other markets. The role involves ensuring efficient operations of Aggregation Centers (ACs), organizing and mobilizing farmers, monitoring market prices, conducting regular market visits, and facilitating partnerships between farmers and traders. S/he will also strengthen the supply chain and commercial distribution network by adhering to organizational guidelines and maintaining standard procedures.
Market Linkage, Aggregation Center & Operations:
Establish and maintain functional market linkages between producers, Aggregation Centers, traders, and buyers.
Facilitate timely and transparent transactions of food commodities to FFC/E-voucher shops and off-farm products to EFSN shops.
Support identification and initiation of business opportunities for Aggregation Centers to enhance sustainability.
Ensure smooth operation and coordination of Aggregation Centers in line with project objectives.
Producer Mobilization, Capacity Building & Value Chain Development:
Organize, mobilize, and support producer groups across crops, fisheries, poultry, and livestock sectors.
Assist in planning and delivering training, workshops, and capacity-building activities for producers and AC members.
Promote adoption of improved production practices, new technologies, and diversified crop varieties.
Act as a focal point for value chain and market system development initiatives.
Market Monitoring & Information Management:
Conduct regular market visits to monitor prices, demand trends, and supply conditions.
Develop and update market price charts and share market information with beneficiaries.
Provide technical guidance to producers and stakeholders to improve market engagement and decision-making.
Coordination, Reporting & Communication:
Organize and facilitate meetings and coordination sessions with traders, buyers, service providers, and stakeholders.
Maintain clear, transparent, and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare and submit timely weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc field reports to the concerned authority.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
