Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Opportunity:
∎ This position will be mainly responsible for providing support to the partner and project team, to address Gender responsive actions/interventions for the disaster shelter construction and risk reduction activities and mobilize the field accordingly. S/he will design gender integration plan, take capacity building initiatives, maintain meaningful relationships with communities and stakeholder and ensure timely information sharing on community mobilization events supported by the MPDS (Multi-Purpose Disaster Shelter) project. S/he will also evaluate the effectiveness of the gender integrated actions in community-based construction supervision, DRR & EiE interventions and community mobilization including the relevance to the needs of the targeted communities particular for this project. The incumbent will also work closely with other staff in project to ensure the high-quality activities with the maximum impact on women and children. S/he will conduct field level gender related training/orientations/ workshops for SCI and partner staff including associated stakeholders and other humanitarian actors based on identified capacity needs and gaps. The incumbent will have to coordinate with CARE gender focal person and maintain the same standard of implementation, as this is a consortium project.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least three years of working experience with NGOs or other development organizations, preferably on education
∎ Partnership experience with government and non-government organizations
∎ Demonstrated experience on training with community stakeholders on gender-responsive service provision, accountability and justice mechanisms will be an asset.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
∎ Ability and willingness to travel widely in program areas
∎ Ability to produce high quality reports, gender integrated case studies
∎ Proficiency on using of standard office computer software/email
