- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in humanitarian/emergency response projects, especially in Rohingya Refugee Camps.
- Experience in flood, landslide, emergency relief, cash/NFI distribution or similar humanitarian interventions will be an advantage.
- Strong experience in project management, team supervision and stakeholder coordination.
- Good knowledge of Cox’s Bazar humanitarian and local context will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, reporting and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Good computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
Responsibilities & Context: Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development, working in the greater Chattogram division including Hill Tracts (CHT) since 1985 (International Youth Year). YPSA is going to implement the project " Bangladesh Monsoon Floods & Landslides Emergency Response”. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is funding the project till 31 December 2026.
Duration: 4 Months (September to December 2026)
Job Location: Cox’s Bazar with frequent field visits to Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Pekua
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for overall management, coordination, implementation, supervision and quality assurance of the emergency response project. S/he will ensure that project activities are implemented on time, within the approved budget, and in compliance with YPSA policies, donor requirements and instructions from relevant government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and follow YPSA Focal Point (Head of Advocacy Unit) for strategic direction for project implementation.
- Develop and monitor the project implementation plan and ensure timely completion of all activities.
- Coordinate emergency relief activities in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Pekua.
- Ensure proper beneficiary identification, verification and prioritization based on agreed vulnerability criteria.
- Coordinate with District Administration, Upazila Administration, local government representatives, camp authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure transparent, accountable and equitable distribution of relief assistance.
- Supervise Project Officer, MEAL and Documentation Officer, Accounts Officer, Field Supervisors and Community Volunteers.
- Ensure proper coordination among field, logistics, finance and MEAL teams.
- Monitor transportation, storage and distribution of relief items.
- Ensure compliance with approved project budget and financial procedures.
- Review progress reports, distribution records, beneficiary lists, monitoring reports and other project documents.
- Identify implementation risks and take timely corrective measures.
- Ensure safeguarding, protection, gender, disability inclusion and accountability principles are integrated into project implementation.
- Facilitate coordination meetings with local authorities and stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit regular progress updates to YPSA Focal Person of the project and donor as required.
- Represent YPSA in relevant coordination meetings and official discussions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management related to the project.
