∎ The overall objective of the PLEASE project is to contribute to the reduction of plastic waste pollution in Cox`s Bazar through the development of a comprehensive and sustainable waste management pathway. In the long-term waste management strategy this project is designed to integrate a multifaceted systems change initiative in Cox`s Bazar and support the municipality for a robust waste management ecosystem. This will be achieved through a systematic and coherent approach by increasing the engagement of relevant stakeholders as well as the capacity and connection of the waste management value chain actors.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: Manage, coordinate and follow-up all the project interventions in Cox`s Bazar Municipality level; guide and supervise programme organizers; maintain liaison and networking with the local government agencies, camp counterparts of the project for effective project implementation
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage day-to-day field level project activities, and ensure those align with project expectations and approved project objectives, workplans, and budgets.
∎ Assist Project Manager in preparing the engagement strategy and action plan, and bring relevant changes required for effective stakeholder engagement and accountability for managing city waste.
∎ Assist in engaging the municipality, appropriate city stakeholders, and community groups including waste workers, fishermen community, and youth groups through a forum.
∎ Lead the waste collection drive, managing the collaboration-hub, community and youth groups at municipality level.
∎ Organise different meetings, trainings and workshops as per the engagement strategy and action plan in order to maximize government, stakeholder, and community engagement.
∎ Network and liaison with Mayor, Councilors, city/municipality authority for ensuring coordinated service delivery.
∎ Follow up field level implementation, monitor progress of the project and ensure smooth field delivery of the activities.
∎ Assist in planning and administration of and/or conduct special events, e.g. behavior change intervention, campaigns, workshops, trainings, and other events.
∎ Coordinate with internal and external partners and communicate regularly for business plan implementation and market linkage for the recycling market.
∎ Prepare periodic project reports as required by donor and programme management.
∎ Organise and manage regular team meetings with field staffs, informal catch-up meetings and external meetings as necessary and to ensure meeting notes and action points are distributed to deadline.
