∎ JOB PURPOSE: In order to achieve organizational mission, vision and program objective, the main focus of the position is to facilitate sector specific gender mainstreaming process with deliberate guidance.
∎ Ensure strategic support to BRAC programmes/ enterprises and departments.
∎ Provide coordination and management of gender mainstreaming initiatives.
∎ The position will support to Regional Managers to practically and strategically institutionalize of gender mainstreaming in BRAC`s programmes/enterprises.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and analyze sector specific gender mainstreaming (GM) scope and priorities in BRAC programmes/enterprises/departments (PEDs).
∎ Provide guidance, advice and thematic support on gender mainstreaming to BRAC (PEDs).
∎ Develop gender equality tools, frameworks, checklists and indicators to strengthen gender mainstreaming technical support for BRAC (PEDs).
∎ Facilitation and regular coordination with PEDs management and team for effective collaboration.
∎ Expedite the process of dialogue and negotiation for establishing GM result tracking and progress reporting mechanism of the PEDs.
∎ Conduct gender assessment and plan to improve the GM capacity of the PEDs staff.
∎ Develop GM critical reports during field visits, consistent with the priorities established in the work plan and Identify emerging gender-related issues related to GM aspects and cascading to the PEDs.
∎ Effective budget preparation, periodic analysis and review of budget expenditure and ensure efficient financial management in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
∎ Establish and strengthen PEDs ownership for achieving BRAC gender mainstreaming goals through increased engagement of PEDs.
∎ Monitor implementation progress of the gender mainstreaming interventions and ensure technical and strategic input for effective field operation.
∎ Coordination among GJD's other staff/unit for achieving gender mainstreaming goal.
∎ Provide advice, direction and support to their supervisee to achieve impact on gender and women's empowerment. And strongly maintain the matrix management and take actions as required.
∎ Initiate the process of VAWG with relevant PEDs and also create a gender responsive workplace of the BRAC office and others.
∎ Coordinate, develop and maintain key professional networks, relationships with partners, national agencies, civil society organization's/ women's organization's to ensure gender is integrated in wider initiatives, and to promote the partners' participation in coordination systems at the local level.
