Job Context:
∎ The Bhasan Char camp opened a new chapter in the world for the support to refugees in Bangladesh. Bhasan Char is a new island of Bangladesh situated in the deep sea with distance of 28 nautical miles West from Patenga of Chattogram and 21 nautical miles South from Noakhali district. The area of the island is 26 Sq. Km. and within the embankment, the land area is about 7 Sq. Km. For the relocation of refugees from the Cox’s Bazar, the Govt. of Bangladesh established the Bhasan Char Camp in 2020. For up-scaling the livelihood and self-reliance opportunities for the refugees in Bhasan Char, with the support of UNHCR, NGO Forum is its skills and livelihoods services for the refugees living in Bhasan Char.
∎ Primarily the project target will be selecting 200 PoCs from 200 household based on a set criteria. The selected beneficiaries will get hands on training on handy crafts, fabrics production, hand weaving textile production, embroidery, as per assessing their preliminary expertise. After the training, the beneficiary will be supported by required sewing machine, hand loom, raw materials etc. They will be assigned regular based home target to achieve the specific target.
∎ The job location will be at Bhashan Char.
∎ The duration of the contract will be until December 31, 2023.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervise day to day productions in the center & ensure the quality of the products as per requirement.
∎ Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to achieve the targeted production.
∎ Check the layout plan of the production house in order to achieve maximum production
∎ Work closely with the production team for producing the final sample product as per customer requirements.
∎ Prepare cost analysis of samples & final products.
∎ Prepare purchase requisition with details specification of raw materials and accessories as per the production plan.
∎ Responsible for each aspect of quality control (rejection rate within a satisfactory level, follow QC inspection checklist on finished product) of the finished product, production output & on-time shipment.
∎ Prepare wages sheet of production workers as per the monthly production.
∎ Assist to develop modules and training manuals in Burmese and English, for Training participants and externally;
∎ To Provide logistical support during productions
∎ Coordinate with other trainers to ensure all required M&E is completed.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the Project Management Unit.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Working experience in Livelihood/Life Skill based Project.
∎ Experience in Rohingya Camp Context will be preferred.
∎ Ability to supervise production activities independently in a team and manage tasks on a daily basis without supervision
∎ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
∎ Ability to effectively coordinate and manage a complex multi-stakeholder project
∎ Willingness and ability to work in hardship environments
∎ Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams
∎ Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills are essential
∎ Previous exposure to UN sector approach at field implementation level
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and reporting skills in English and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups.
